This should be done. A wise person in all aspects should be understood in ten ways. Namely: possessing innate wisdom, hearing acquired through effort, perfect maturation acquired through thinking and meditation, having good thoughts because of not being scattered and unmindful, being good at speaking and expressing, being good at doing what should be done, having autonomy over oneself, not being controlled by others for the sake of survival, desiring happiness because it is in accordance with the Dharma, and not desiring happiness because it is not in accordance with the Dharma, properly protecting the necessities of daily life, not wasting them unnecessarily, using them as if looking at faults, observing the utensils for illness, examining them separately before using them, and protecting against the causes of untimely death. These ten ways should be understood as being wise in all aspects. Completely understanding phenomena through the gate of selflessness, and abandonment, it should be known that these two are distinguished by three aspects. Namely: completely understanding the view of the aggregates in phenomena, and abandonment is the non-existence of that, usually applying forgetfulness to phenomena, and the non-forgetful is rare. The opposite of this

It should be recognized that this is the third distinction. Abandoning the view of the aggregates, besides these three distinctions, there are also three benefits. Relying on it, the afflictions that establish existence in the future are abandoned, and it will not take long. Its antidote path will also be truly accomplished. After accomplishing one's own benefit, relying solely on that path, by diligently engaging in the yoga of dwelling in happiness in this life, one can dwell in happiness. In all aspects, the distinctions of cultivating the perception of impermanence should be recognized as fourfold: What are the four? Result, nature, aspect, and means. Among these, from the aspect of result, it is taught that one completely abandons all desire-attachment, as well as attachment to form, all attachment to the formless, agitation, pride, and ignorance, thus abandoning these three root afflictions. Among these three near afflictions, agitation is the helper of desire-attachment, pride is the helper of attachment to form, and ignorance is the helper of attachment to the formless. Alternatively, it shows the ultimate perfect union corresponding to the lower and higher divisions, this is another classification. Among these, from the aspect of nature, it is completely shown as arising from hearing. Arising from thinking, entering into meditation is meditation. Arising from meditation, it increases. By individually recognizing the characteristics, the attention is completely shown. Except for the ultimate union, the rest belong to meditation, and it increases with the ultimate union, this is the second classification. From the aspect of support, object, and attention, it is determined, based, and diligently cultivated, and should be understood in order. By becoming accustomed for a long time, it is purified. In an uninterrupted and non-inverted manner, it is well-taken and well-made, this is the distinction of nature. Among these, the distinction of aspect is that, by cultivating the perception of impermanence in this way, one completely destroys all latent predispositions, abandons all the virtues of the lower grounds, and truly takes all the virtues of the higher grounds.

Not only that, but among all perceptions such as impurity, it will exist in a supreme and vast manner. It will also pervade everything. How does it pervade everything? Just as the complete thought of the object to be grasped, so too is it with the grasper, because it is inseparable from its characteristics. One will also obtain the perception of impermanence without outflows. Whatever perceptions there are, whether with or without outflows, all of these will incline towards nirvana, flow into and arrive there, and will also become the antidote for permanently eliminating the great darkness of ignorance. Having abandoned that, the non-learner will become completely purified and completely tamed, and will also obtain the master of all learners without outflows. For this, from the perspective of method, one dwells alone in a secluded place, and by attending to conditioned phenomena in a non-perverted manner and continuously, one closely contemplates impermanence. One who possesses the perception of impermanence does not abide by perceiving the path of seeing as self, but abides in the perception of selflessness, and in the path of non-learning that is cultivated, having completely destroyed the pride of thinking "I am," one will also obtain both kinds of nirvana. Entering into the state of nirvana, one who has not accumulated merit has five dharmas that are not in accordance with merit, namely: past possessions, playfulness, joy, and relying on the enjoyment of pleasure, leading to sorrow and lamentation, and relying on these, receiving teachings, forgetting the dharmas that have been completely understood, and not respecting the dharmas, eating too much or too little, being heavy in body or weak in body, therefore not delighting in abiding in celibacy, and excessive sleep, or because of not being accustomed to abandoning sleep, constantly relying on the covering of sleep, and abiding in busyness, and abandoning the practice of correct conduct. It should be known that there are also five dharmas that correspond to these five dharmas that are not in accordance with merit, namely: whether it is desire or non-desire, one has not yet been liberated from desire, and one strives in virtuous dharmas.
