That wisdom which observes that and those knowable objects by means of the expression of vowels is knowledge. Grasping self-characteristics and general characteristics is seeing. Furthermore, seeking all phenomena is knowledge. Discriminating from all that has been sought is seeing. Furthermore, observing non-conceptual images is knowledge. Observing conceptual images is seeing. Furthermore, observing the image of knowable form is seeing. Observing the image of knowable non-form is knowledge. Thus, relying on knowledge and seeing, entering into practice is combined by the four foundations of the wise, namely: the foundation of close attainment, the foundation of giving and taking, the foundation of definite emergence from feelings, and the foundation of means. Among these, the foundation of close attainment is the four mindfulnesses, in order to fully understand all knowable objects as they truly are through the antidote to the four inversions. The foundation of giving and taking is the four right abandonments, in order to abandon non-virtuous dharmas and truly accomplish virtuous dharmas. The foundation of definite emergence from feelings is the four legs of miraculous power, for the four meditations, starting from the root of displeasure, until completely transcending between happiness and suffering. The foundation of means is the faculties, powers, limbs of enlightenment, and limbs of the path, which should be understood, because this is the method for abandoning the afflictions to be abandoned by the path of seeing and the path of cultivation. Thus, entering the path of the wise, it should be understood that there are four meanings of reliance and the object of reliance, among which, the meaning of reliance is the state in which the yogi truly enters. Among these, the meaning of the object of reliance is being in accordance with those learning uncontaminated dharmas, but not being in accordance with those who are completely pure, because they are surrounded by the husk of ignorance residue. Those dharmas themselves later accord with purity through the path of purification. Among these, the path of purification should also be understood to be of four types, truly examining the true dharma is increase.

depending on that. Depending on the virtuous friend is to depend completely. One should warm the mind with discipline, control of the senses, and few desires, etc. Abiding in secluded places, one should properly and easily guard with both tranquility and insight. Therein, complete purification is when, through the cause of repeatedly practicing that very path of purification, the power of ignorance is broken through by those teachings of learning, and thus one certainly arises in the state of no more learning. It should also be understood that there are five stages to attaining complete accomplishment and the utterly thorough liberation, namely: first, the basis of perfectly accumulating merit; depending on that, cultivating both tranquility and insight; depending on that, realizing the truths and delighting in nirvana; depending on that, not being content with just a partial realization, nor abiding in it, but feeling aversion to the things that cause aversion; depending on that, is the last learning mind that possesses the vajra-like samadhi. For all bodies, one should understand that all conditioned things are impermanent for four reasons: The lifespan of all actions is fixed. For example, if someone picks up a lump of clay or a lump of cow dung for some purpose, thinking that he will throw it away at some time, then for that lump that was picked up for that purpose, that person has the power to throw it away as he pleases while he is alive. He can throw it away whenever he wants to throw it away, and he can hold it for as long as he wants to hold it. But, having taken a body that is the cause of death, and the lifespan is also exhausted, it is not possible to make it stay for even a moment at will, so what more can one expect than that? Furthermore, all bodies arise from causes, and the causes are also made, therefore they are impermanent. Furthermore, great and perfect bodies also have an end, such as those who practice in the form realm, and those who practice in the desire realm gods, and humans such as Brahma, Indra, and the Wheel-turning Kings. Furthermore, because it is manifested from trustworthy instructions, that is, it is manifested from what the Bhagavan himself saw directly.
