It should be done like this. Among them, the support is mindfulness. What is relied upon is the discrimination of dharma. The rest should also be understood by combining them appropriately in this way. A monk who diligently cultivates the limbs of enlightenment will not be touched by four causes and abide. What are the four? That is, at all times and in all places, not abandoning the bad places that are in accordance with the afflictions; the near afflictions that are in accordance with calm abiding manifest; the near afflictions that are in accordance with insight manifest; and entering a path that has not been accustomed to. The four causes that are the opposite of this will abide in mindfulness. A monk who is proficient in these two situations, abiding with mindfulness, will be able to truly know. With attention and the manifestation of fabrication, it is too hasty diligence. The beginning and the end have faults, which is imbalance. Therefore, it should be known that these two causes are unfamiliar. The two causes that are the opposite of this should also be known as the path that has been accustomed to. Just as the wheel-turning king obtains the sovereign power of the four continents and possesses the seven treasures, obtaining the great power of the mind's sovereignty, it should also be known that the seven limbs of enlightenment are precious jewels. Among them, in accordance with both calm abiding and insight, revolving and revolving completely, with the meaning of overcoming afflictions, mindfulness is like a wheel jewel. With the meaning of knowing infinite knowable objects and having a large body, the discrimination of dharma is like an elephant jewel. With the meaning of quickly reaching where one should go and proceeding without interruption, without obstruction, diligence is like a horse jewel. With the meaning of being extremely perfect and pleasing, joy is like a woman jewel. With the meaning of the body and mind being able to work and having the nature of faith, pliancy is like a mani jewel. With the meaning of accomplishing all desires, samadhi is like a householder jewel. With the meaning of destroying the army of afflictions and the meaning of being without afflictions, the meaning of accomplishing the dharma
