Of the place and the object of enjoyment, the object and the wisdom faculty are the main ones, and the dwelling in the direction of the various external beings is the last. The twenty-two faculties, if summarized, should be understood as being established separately by six places. This refers to: holding objects, the cause of lineage dwelling, the action of the individual who connects with the different ends of actions as the cause of life, enjoying the fruits of previous actions that are painful and not painful, doing new actions, becoming free from worldly desires, and becoming free from transmundane desires. Among them, the faculties from the eye faculty to the mind faculty have power over holding objects. The two faculties of male and female have power over the continuation of lineage through sons and grandsons. The life faculty has power over the actions of individuals who want to accomplish life as the cause of life, connecting with the different ends of actions. The faculties from the happiness faculty to the equanimity faculty have power over enjoying the fruits of previous actions, both painful and not painful, and doing new actions. The five faculties from the faith faculty to the wisdom faculty have power over becoming free from worldly desires. The three uncontaminated faculties, namely the faculty of making the unknown known, the faculty of knowing, and the faculty of having knowledge, have power over becoming free from transmundane desires, ultimately reaching the limit. The worldly meaning of all worlds is only this much, and therefore the world appears. That meaning is also perfected by the twenty-two faculties, so the twenty-two faculties encompass all faculties. Some people think like this: if the inner self does not enjoy objects through the doors of these six faculties, but the six faculties themselves have various objects of enjoyment and various objects, then if the six faculties only experience their own objects, then who will experience the objects of enjoyment of these six faculties? They think like this.

Therefore, since the arising of interdependence is not manifestly understood, it should be recognized that there is such a reversed clinging to conditioned phenomena. Now, interdependence is like this: when a yogi properly focuses on the six internal faculties, and engages in the practice of the four mindfulnesses, then, those four mindfulnesses will experience the objects of the sphere of activity of those six faculties, and also, they will necessarily arise dependent on the purification of those faculties. By practicing those four mindfulnesses, as soon as the truth is realized, the seven branches of enlightenment will be attained. At that time, those seven branches of enlightenment will truly experience the objects of the sphere of activity of those four mindfulnesses, which is the truth. Through constantly relying on those seven branches of enlightenment, wisdom and liberation will arise, and at that time, that wisdom and liberation will experience that, since those seven branches of enlightenment have been well cultivated, there is no further sphere of activity to be cultivated. Since he has completely abandoned all afflictions, therefore, with respect to the nirvana in which all afflictions have been abandoned, he will not have pride. Since he has no pride, with respect to the existing wisdom and liberation, he will experience that wisdom and liberation exist, and that he has attained their sphere of activity. Moreover, since one will necessarily be liberated from all conditioned dharmas, it should be recognized that one will also be liberated from wisdom and liberation. With respect to nirvana, there is no imputation of either the grasper or the grasped, because all elaborations have ceased. Therefore, as long as conditioned phenomena exist, from higher to higher, it is reasonable for there to be grasper and grasped, as well as questioning and answering. With respect to unconditioned nirvana, that will only be improper attention, therefore, it is not mine, but only the complete affliction and complete purification are shown. A wise person, an individual with clear faculties, by separately examining and properly attending to the dharmas, will attain nirvana.
