Here you are, sharing all my possessions in common, and you also praise me to others. And also, like this, guard for the sake of concealing faults. I will do the same for you. If we two protect each other, we will gain benefits and respect from kings and ministers to captains. Saying this, to that teacher who says such things, the student who wants to benefit me says this, it should not be viewed that way, a friend's protection cannot protect oneself from those faults of going to bad destinies. Therefore, you and I must also be protected by something that is not oneself. If I protect you or you protect me, which is not oneself, then it cannot be protected, so he said. Regarding that reason, one should know that that student is good at reasoning and is wise. Because of particularly clinging to the next life. The teacher is childish, because of particularly clinging to this life. Because he also has afflictions, he harms others. Therefore, because he has afflictions, he is not protecting himself, and because of that reason, he particularly harms others, so he is not protecting others either. Regarding that, like before, with complete reliance and so on, it is like this, in order to protect oneself, one should abandon afflictions. After that, from what arises from the cause of abandoning that, not particularly harming others and so on, one should also protect others. Regarding that, not generating anger and not harming, these two should be understood as the meaning of not particularly harming. Subsequently, compassion is the mind of benefit. The mind of loving-kindness is the mind of happiness. Subsequently, these two minds of compassion and loving-kindness should be understood as the meaning of compassion, if one is compassionate, one will not particularly harm others, therefore one should know that all these are synonyms of compassion. The well-spoken Dharma and Vinaya should be known to be like a snow mountain. That also has three parts. The ground of no more learning, the ground of learning, and the ground of ordinary beings. Possessing inappropriate attention

The mind is like a monkey. The demon is like a hunter. In this, in the land of the non-learner, there is no place for either. In the land of learning, for those who do not return, etc., for those who have minds like monkeys that are not properly engaged and have actions, there is a place for one, but not for the demon like a hunter. In the land of ordinary beings, it should be known that there is a place for both. In this, like a child looking at another place to determine the place of birth, but when seeking another place, he is also bound by another place, so he cannot be liberated from the place. Listening to the holy Dharma, and explaining it, and contemplating the meaning, and diligently practicing the Dharma that is in accordance with the Dharma, etc., should be understood as the meaning of entering, taming, dwelling, and ceasing in order. With three dharmas, even the great entanglement of lustful desire can be abandoned, let alone the entanglement of lustful desire? What are the three? They are the power of diligence, the power of non-carelessness, and the power of antidote. In this, with the power of diligence, those who are born are not accepted. With the two, the unborn are made not to be born. Thus, that yogi enters for the sake of abandoning those who are born and not giving birth to those who are not born. The four mindfulnesses should be known as respectfully cultivated, just like the actions that come from the hearers. The place called the abode of the demon is the desire realm, from which those who do not return are transcended. The place called the abode of the Lord of Death is below the peak of existence, from which the Arhat is transcended. The twenty-first volume of the Compendium of Matters from the Yogachara Bhumi. Those beings called impure minds are the ordinary beings. Those called pure are the learners. Those called completely pure are the non-learners. From what knowledge does faith arise? It is for the sake of making the beings with impure minds pure, and for making the pure completely pure. From that, the superior learners are pure, and the path of meditation is for those pure learners.
