It is finished. What kind of practitioner is meant by "one with practice" here? There are four kinds of practitioners: one who conquers by the path, a guide of the path, one who lives for the path, and one who refutes the path. It is explained extensively in the sutras as follows: as arising from the actions of a Hearer. What path is meant by "path" here? It is the Noble Eightfold Path. Whoever possesses the Noble Eightfold Path possesses these four practitioners, including the one who refutes the path. Because one possesses the path and has committed wrong actions, it is possible to have a refuter of the path who is not a vessel arising from that. Therefore, externalists do not even have a refuter of the path, so how could they have anything else? What ultimate state is meant by "ultimate" here? It is the state of abandoning all clinging and never uniting again after abandoning. What are the four abodes to rely on? What are the four aspects of knowledge after realization? The abode of the outgoing breath, having abandoned the three bonds; the abode of power, the nature of not falling into evil destinies; the abode of cause, which definitely goes to perfect enlightenment; and the abode of following, even if it is like that, still experiencing seven existences. Relying on these four abodes, one awakens and understands the Buddha, Dharma, Sangha, and discipline. What is liberation from the four kinds of near afflictions of externalists? It is liberation from the near afflictions of this life, the near afflictions of the next life, the afflictions arising from mutual discord and disharmony, and the afflictions arising from not understanding because the truths are not explained. Because externalists do not have mindfulness, they remain in a state of forgetfulness and ignorance. When they experience feelings of pleasure, pain, or neither pleasure nor pain, they become attached to pleasure, hate pain, and are confused about neither pleasure nor pain. This is the first near affliction of this life. Thus, due to attachment, rejection, and confusion, craving arises from the condition of feeling, which causes rebirth in existence, and the craving of...

Due to conditions, grasping arises. Those grasping accompanied by craving, due to grasping, craving arises, and so on, until a vast mass of suffering fully arises. This is the proximate affliction of the next life, the second. From this, those non-Buddhists, because their views arise from the root of the view of the aggregates, and their minds are different in various ways, others disagree with others, and those also disagree with those. This is the third proximate affliction. For those, even if the teaching of the noble truths is completely absent, how could there be contemplation? Therefore, even if they have obtained the distinguished knowledge of their own teacher, they are not wise but become ignorant. This is the fourth proximate affliction, from which those of this Dharma are liberated. What is the difference between the disciples of non-Buddhists and the hearers of this Dharma? The disciples of non-Buddhists, having long been familiar with viewing existence as permanent or viewing non-existence as annihilation, become attached, and they accept what arises from hearing, and they are more attached to what arises from thinking, and they are more attached to what arises from meditation. Those of this Dharma have entered the Middle Way, abandoning the two extremes. What is the difference between the teachers of non-Buddhists and the teachers of this Dharma? The teachers of non-Buddhists merely say that they completely know how to abandon all grasping, so they do not truly teach how to completely know how to abandon all grasping. Those who have renounced only the initial desires have become renunciates, so even if they teach how to completely know how to abandon the grasping of desires, they do not teach how to completely know how to abandon their own views, their own discipline, asceticism, and the assertion of self. For those ascetics and Brahmins, whatever is dissimilar in view, dissimilar in discipline and asceticism, there, even if they teach the complete knowledge of abandoning the grasping of views, discipline, asceticism, and the assertion of self are close.

It is not showing complete knowledge of abandoning the two acquisitions. What is the difference between discipline and asceticism? Now, there, discipline and asceticism, it is shown that one has completely known the abandonment of close acquisition, but claiming self as a close acquisition is the same as all outsiders and commoners at all times. Therefore, they are not showing complete knowledge of abandoning the close acquisition of claiming self and others. Even if they have abandoned those close acquisitions, they will become the cause of future close acquisitions because they have not completely abandoned them. Thus, because they have not completely abandoned close acquisition and have not completely abandoned it, they have not attained the ultimate fruit. It should be understood that the teacher of this school is the opposite of this. It should be understood that the difference between the teachers of other schools and the teachers of this school lies in this. Chapter Nineteen of the Compendium of Matters from the Yogacarabhumi-sastra. To summarize briefly through the practice of the four mindfulnesses, it should be understood that all the meanings of the principle of the Sramana are summarized by three places, three grounds, and three individuals. What are the three places? The knowable, the knowing, and the realized. What are the three grounds? The ground of the ordinary being gathered by correct application, the ground of the learner, and the ground of the non-learner. What are the three individuals? The ordinary being who strives correctly, the learner, and the non-learner. Among them, what is the knowable? The six realms of earth and so on, with the six sense bases of contact as the basis, and the six sense bases of contact with the eighteen mental activities as the basis, and the eighteen mental activities for the sake of complete affliction of the mind. Among them, what is the knowing? The place of wisdom for the sake of complete purification of the mind. What is the realization? Because it is the place of wisdom, it is the place of truth, the place of abandonment, and the place of peace. Among them, what is the place of wisdom? An ordinary being dwells on what kind of wisdom, and having made correct effort, the ground of the ordinary being, because of the cause of excellent cultivation of virtuous Dharma, acting with non-negligence, enters the ground of the learner, or dwells on what kind of wisdom,
