Those who have not separated from desire and attachment, and those who have separated from desires, and those who have not separated from the desire and attachment of the first dhyana, and those who have separated from the desire and attachment of the first dhyana, and those who have separated from desire from there up to the realm of neither perception nor non-perception, and those who are outside of this, the worldly samadhi with wrong views, up to those with the knowledge of wrong liberation, and those of this Dharma, the worldly samadhi with right views, up to those with the knowledge of right liberation, and those of this Dharma, the supramundane samadhi. It should be understood that all sentient beings are included through the experience of fully knowing feelings by these eight categories. Among them, for householders and renunciates, the afflicted feelings that have not separated from desire and attachment arise from three causes: the power of intense attachment, the power of attention, and the power of the object. Among them, the desire that arises for householders who fully seek and enjoy desires is the power of intense attachment; the power of improper attention to previous experiences; and the power of the object to fully enjoy when the object becomes manifest. Therefore, that person's desire, conception, and touch are not pacified through the constant use of enjoyment. Due to this cause, his three kinds of feelings will also arise. Initially, in order to constantly use the afflicted seventh consciousness, conception, and touch, one will experience the feelings that arise from that cause. If it has already arisen, if one accepts it and does not abandon it, and does not eliminate it, then that person's feelings will remain continuous, connected to the continuum, and will not be pacified. Due to the cause of not being pacified, one will also experience the continuous feelings. Initially, because of constantly using things that remain continuous, such as desire, one will experience the feelings that arise from that cause, and because one has not abandoned all the afflictions that are related to this and exist in the continuum.

Furthermore, this becoming a cause of non-pacification is the second case. Among them, a renunciate who has not abandoned desire, because the desire is completely stable, the intention held by the power of extreme attachment is pacified. The conceptualizations, etc., held by the power of attention and the object, and contact are not pacified. Therefore, he dwells alone, not cultivating the antidote to conceptualizations, and also not feeling disgusted in all of everything, so he engages in conceptualizations of inappropriate attention to previously experienced objects. He also engages in contact with objects that are manifestly coarse. If one sees the faults of conceptualizations, cultivates their antidote, and does not abandon desire in all of everything, then conceptualizations become pacified. Intention was also pacified before. Only contact is not pacified because afflicted contact arises with manifestly coarse objects. If one is free from desire, then one should know that everything is pacified, this is the first case. Furthermore, for those who have not abandoned desire for desires, some of them, because they have not abandoned the desire for desires for desires, and have not abandoned the afflicted contact of conceptualizations, therefore everything is not pacified. Having abandoned the desire for desires for desires, the intention of entering into the samadhi of the first dhyana is pacified, but conceptualizations are not pacified. The two who have abandoned desire up to the first dhyana and have not abandoned the desire of the realm of neither perception nor non-perception are pacified, but contact is not pacified. For those who have completely passed beyond existence, everything becomes pacified, this is the second case. Among them, the samadhi of the worldly non-Buddhists, starting from wrong view, up to those with knowledge of wrong liberation, all of these, because of that, become the cause of the arising of feeling. And those who repeatedly take and are connected with afflictions that are in accordance with that side, because that becomes the cause of non-pacification, feeling arises. This Dharma

The liberation of worldly samadhi, and the one who possesses the knowledge of true liberation, accepts its cause, and the afflictions related to it, due to the cause of its non-pacification, feelings will arise. This Dharma, abiding on the path of entering into supramundane samadhi, but whose meaning is not complete, in order to manifest what has not been attained, not realized, and not directly experienced, thinking, 'When will I attain this state?' and so on, as before, expand upon it. This is non-pacification, and due to its cause, feelings will arise at that time. The desire for complete meaning is pacification, and due to its cause of pacification, the supremely pacified, unsurpassed feeling will arise. He fully understands all those feelings, along with the certainty of arising and the means of possessing the certainty of arising, as they truly are. Therefore, as before, among the true renunciates, he holds to being a renunciate, and among the Brahmins, he holds to being a Brahmin. Those who do not understand well will not hold to it. Here, all feelings in general are caused by contact. The cause of that cause is also desire, also conceptualization, and also ignorance, which is encompassed by delusion about objects. The source of arising of all of these is inappropriate attention, and the afflictions that are in accordance with it in the continuum. When that ceases, those also cease. It should be known that the path of true view, etc., is the path of cessation. The noble Hearer abides having directly experienced the joy of extreme solitude with his body, which is abandoning five dharmas, and cultivating five dharmas, which becomes complete, this should be understood as growing from the ground of samadhi. The low, medium, and high of joy, happiness, and equanimity should be understood as appropriate in the desire realm and the four dhyanas. The equanimity of the ground of the four dhyanas is free from all faults.
