Relying on these two, the mind is placed in equanimity. When the mind is placed in equanimity, one thoroughly knows what is as it is. This is through the gateway of faith, the three trainings are gradually learned, namely, higher discipline, higher mind, and higher wisdom will arise. The path of the collection of these is worldly right view, initiation, easy to nourish, easy to fill, few desires, contentment, and the four objects of gathering. The meaning of easy to nourish, etc., is as follows: As it appears in the Hearer's Ground, it should be known that this is the complete seeking of pure conduct. Among them, beings who possess the realm of seeking pure conduct only associate with those who are compatible with it, and not with those who possess realms that are incompatible with it. The result depends on the cause, but the cause does not depend on the result. Therefore, relying on the six sense-sphere realms related to the realm of ignorance, due to the difference in support, various contacts born from ignorance arise. Relying on various contacts born from ignorance, various feelings born from contacts born from ignorance arise. Relying on various feelings born from contacts born from ignorance, craving arises from the condition of feelings born from contacts born from ignorance, grasping arises from the condition of craving, and thus the great mass of suffering is widely produced. It should be known that this is the establishment of realms through seeking existence. Merely relying on the six sense-sphere realms related to the realm of ignorance, contacts born from ignorance will arise. Relying on contacts born from ignorance, conceptualizations arise that apprehend signs and marks of objects in a way that is not in accordance with reality. Relying on that conceptualization, desire arises for that object. Relying on desire, many recollections arise of the dharmas that are in accordance with it. Relying on many recollections of the dharmas that are in accordance with it, complete suffering of body and mind arises, caused by suffering, displeasure, and discomfort. Relying on this, the entire object...

Various kinds of seekers will arise. It should be understood that this is the establishment of realms through seeking desire. In summary: Three and seven are the summarized, Establish various superior perceptions, Truly establish within, Children are the last. There are three realms: the realm of form, the realm of formlessness, and the realm of cessation. Furthermore, there are seven realms: light, virtue, the four formless realms, and cessation. Among these, the realm of form encompasses light and virtue. The realm of formlessness encompasses the four formless realms. Cessation encompasses cessation itself. Therefore, because attachment to form is distinguished by seeing and experiencing, the realms of light and virtue are established in all realms of form. The complete knowledge of these seven realms should also be understood. The means of obtaining should also be understood. Obtaining should also be understood. Why obtaining should also be understood. Therefore, those realms are completely known from four causes: from the perspective of dissimilar and similar aspects, because there are adversaries, smallness, immeasurability, existence, non-existence, superiority, and non-superiority. Therefore, light exists dependent on darkness. Virtue exists dependent on non-virtue. Space exists dependent on the form of form. These are established in dependence on dissimilar aspects with adversaries. Because the mind enters into them in dependence on them. Boundless consciousness exists dependent on consciousness that focuses on the small aspect of the extreme. Nothingness exists because there is merely no thing. The sphere of neither perception nor non-perception exists dependent on the unsurpassed existence, the peak of all existence. The realm of cessation exists dependent on abandoning all afflictions associated with the aggregates of decay. The peak of existence is unsurpassed within existence. All phenomena of cessation are unsurpassed within. The meditative absorption of perception is called formation. Therefore, the five realms are from the sphere of nothingness down to the meditative absorption of perception, the meditative absorption of formation.
