With that as the object, the places of consciousness, his mind will become completely afflicted, and the birth in the next life will also be manifestly accomplished. For the non-learner, since in this life he has abandoned the entanglements and predispositions of the two kinds of afflictions, therefore in the next life, in the places of consciousness, with the mind's complete afflictions, rebirth will not be manifestly accomplished. The perfectly complete Buddhas, from the past, when they became Bodhisattvas, properly contemplating this dependent arising, thereby manifestly and completely awakened to the unsurpassed, perfectly complete Bodhi, just like the present Bhagavan. Having manifestly and completely awakened to the unsurpassed, perfectly complete Bodhi, they also, by way of arising and non-arising, with the object of this dependent arising, strive in the yoga of dwelling in bliss in this life, and dwell in touching bliss, just like the present Bhagavan. Those are also immeasurable, but in the world, by way of the two trees showing the seven generations of lineage, only seven generations are shown. Thus, like the unsurpassed Bodhi, if one who has not realized by truly knowing dependent arising will realize, and one who has realized will dwell in bliss in this life, what need to mention the inferior Bodhi? The means to manifestly and completely awaken to this dependent arising as it truly is, is to be completely grasped by the five limbs, that is, to abandon, and should be known as before. The condensed meaning of this dependent arising, from the aspect of entering, is suffering and its cause. From the aspect of reversing, it is the uncontaminated dharmas and their cause. The cause of suffering and its cause is the outflows. The basis of those outflows is the accumulation of ignorance, that is, the feeling born from contact. The cause of the abiding of dharmas with cause is merely the aggregates that have abandoned afflictions in this life. The seven purities that are gradually and truly accomplished.

Since there is complete nirvana without acceptance through the gate of "na," it should be understood that the limb of dependent origination of this very basis is profound speech. What are the seven? Namely: purity of discipline, purity of mind, purity of view, purity of overcoming doubt, purity of seeing knowledge of the path and non-path, purity of seeing knowledge of the path, and purity of seeing knowledge of abandoning the path. How will these purities be accomplished in order and correctly? Here, a monk dwells possessing discipline and restrained by the vows of individual liberation, and so forth extensively, it should be understood as the arising of actions by the Hearers. Thus, being endowed with discipline and without regret, from there extensively, connect up to the establishment of mental equanimity, and abide having cultivated up to the four meditations. Thus, having established mental equanimity, from being upright and capable of abiding to being unmoving, having heard, by the direct perception of the knowledge of the exhaustion of defilements, one makes the mind directly abide, and thereby will directly realize the four noble truths. Because of abandoning the afflictions to be abandoned by seeing, one will obtain the undefiled learning right view. Having obtained that, one will abandon whatever doubts and uncertainties there are about suffering and its origin, cessation and the path, the Buddha and the Dharma, and the Sangha, and by completely abandoning them, one will also transcend doubt. Having transcended doubt, one will also thoroughly know that the path preceded by right view is the path as it is; in order to abandon the afflictions to be abandoned by seeing and those to be abandoned by further cultivation, one will also thoroughly know that the non-path preceded by wrong view is the non-path as it is. When he is skilled in the path and the non-path, and abandons the non-path and goes on the path, there are four paths that follow the path: slow direct perception and difficult rapid direct perception, slow direct perception, and easy rapid direct perception.
