This should be done. A bhikkhu who is endowed with morality and abides in the discipline of individual liberation, relies on the samadhi belonging to the preliminary stage of the first dhyana through the path of higher mind training, and through the path of higher wisdom training, knows the abiding of the Dharma, knows nirvana, and relying on these two knowledges, as before, takes up and dwells in extreme solitude, fully endowed with benefits in four ways. Then, in the moment when the mind is completely liberated from all defilements, one will become an arhat liberated by wisdom. What is knowing the abiding of the Dharma? For example, here, some people, through this very cause, after hearing the words conforming to dependent origination without distortion, regarding the causal and resultant states of the formations of dependent origination, while still being ordinary beings, the correct attention arising from hearing, thinking, and meditating, just as it is, with proper attention, regarding suffering as suffering, and regarding the origin, cessation, and path as the path, enter and believe with wisdom. Thus, whatever knowledge there is of the dharmas that abide as they are in cause and effect, this is called knowing the abiding of the Dharma. What is knowing nirvana? This is the nature of Dharma, regarding suffering as suffering, and regarding the origin, cessation, and path as the path, when entering and believing with wisdom, regarding suffering and the origin, one abides in a discordant perception, while regarding cessation, nirvana, one perceives it as peace. For example, abandoning all aggregates, this is peace. This is excellent. From here, expand. Thus, relying on knowing the abiding of the Dharma, thereby relying on the discordant knowledge of suffering and the cause of suffering, entering and believing in the peace of nirvana with wisdom, this is called knowing nirvana. A wise person who sees the six perfections manifest in the well-spoken Dharma and Vinaya should be content and diligently strive to abide. What are the six? Perfection of learning, perfection of teaching,

What, one's own benefit is obtained unsurpassed, all are understood, unsurpassed is taught, and one possesses the master of the scriptures. Among them, what is a perfect teacher? The Thus-Gone One possesses the ten powers and is fearless with the four fearlessnesses. This is a perfect teacher. Moreover, vowing in a vast and excellent place, turning the wheel of Brahma, truly proclaiming the lion's roar in the assembly, dependent arising arises according to the way, not according to the way, and teaching cessation and nirvana, this is the perfect teaching. That teaching is also naturally clear in words and letters and profound in meaning, the teaching is clear in words and letters and profound in meaning, and the explanation of its profound meaning is easy to enter. For example, in order to attain perfect enlightenment, there is no ascetic or Brahmin who knows more than the Thus-Gone One. Therefore, others attain through the means of attaining their own benefit, and for the sake of attaining perfect enlightenment, apart from the Dharma taught by the Thus-Gone One, there is no place for teaching that is more excellent and transcendent, this is the unsurpassed attainment of one's own benefit. Teaching it to gods and humans and so on, and teaching it truthfully and without inversion, the teacher does not conceal any examples for all dharmas, and teaches to all, this is understanding everything and teaching unsurpassed. Cutting off all doubts, the great faith that is the root of all virtues, is the basis and place of manifest objects, and the teacher manifestly enters, this is called possessing the master of the scriptures, the wise who see these six perfections manifest, for example, in order to apply the three trainings to higher morality, and to be mindful of higher mind, and in order to strive for the teaching that teaches higher wisdom, one should be content and diligently abide. If one abides lazily, then one should know that there will be two faults, namely, afflictions that cause suffering in this life and the next.
