This is done. If the cause exists, the result exists; if the cause does not exist, the result does not exist. Like this, the latter is examined in two ways, and it is completely examined. After completely examining, one understands what the path is that leads to the cause not existing. After understanding, entering correctly in that way is the Dharma-vicaya that accords with it. That is, because of the cause of merit and non-merit arising from ignorance, and the new karma of unwavering action, there is merit and non-merit, and the result of going to the unwavering is the existence of consciousness, which is also examined in this very life. If that does not exist, then that also does not exist, and after examining, like before, one understands and practices, and by practicing correctly, one does not create new karma arising from ignorance, and the old karma is also experienced and exhausted. Like before, the path of this life and the result of the path, Nirvana, will also be attained in this very life. Therefore, at that time, the body with consciousness, which is related to the heat of the latent tendencies of the fire of afflictions, is placed in the supremely cool Nirvana, just as a pot is destroyed by the heat abandoned by a potter. That heat of afflictions is also completely separated from all of everything. The body like a potsherd, the aggregates gathered by consciousness, also become cool. Like before, from "when experiencing the last feeling of the body," it should be known extensively. It will remain constantly until the end of life, falling away from the fruit of the Arhat, and because of ignorance as a condition, the formations will not become the cause of manifest formation. What is it like to not have pride in realization? That is, at that time, there is a vision of wisdom that focuses on dependent arising, which is extremely pure. He thinks like this: Truly, there is neither a samsaric being nor a complete nirvanic being here. Because this and this dharma arise, this and this dharma will arise; because this and this dharma cease, this and this dharma will cease, he thinks. There are two kinds of pride: the pride of the learner

Those with superior arrogance, and the superior arrogance of the non-learner. Among them, the superior arrogance of the learner is that they say to others, "Because I have abandoned the three pervasive practices, I have transcended doubt. I have no doubt about my own realization of the learning liberation. Because I have abandoned all views arising from the root of the view of the aggregates, it is said that I have pulled out the poisoned arrow of views." The superior arrogance of the non-learner is that they say, "I have nothing further to do above this, nor is there any further distinction to be made." Both of these, starting from dependent arising or nirvana, when speaking of the profound transcendent emptiness of the noble words, and the conventional expression of the dependent arising of this condition, they do not understand or follow. Because of this, they will have doubts about understanding dependent arising as it is, and will also have hesitation about realizing the nirvana of abandoning afflictions. Why is that? Because the superior arrogance of the learner has not fully understood the subtle ego-clinging, the clinging to what is mine, and the related attention and proliferation of the "I" thought, but only through shamatha has made their continuum temporarily stable, and has not been mixed with coarse afflictions. Therefore, they will think they have attained what they have not actually attained, and will proclaim it to others. The superior arrogance of the non-learner thinks, "I am peaceful, I am nirvana, I am without desire, I am without grasping." They have not abandoned the subtle pervasive practices, nor have they understood the ego-clinging, so they will think they have attained what they have not actually attained, and will proclaim it to others. This superior arrogance of the non-learner should be understood as only transforming from the previous superior arrogance of the learner. In reality, there is no transformation from a true learner to a later superior arrogance of the non-learner. Why is that?

Furthermore, for those who have not attained but think they have, if they cling to the arrogance of superiority, remain in other states continuously, and also tell others, in this way, their afflictions arise continuously, and their minds are occupied by these afflictions, then they will not abide in this state. Due to forgetfulness, their afflictions arise slightly, do not last long, are only briefly experienced, and are quickly understood and digested. These two situations are: the former is for those with the arrogance of superiority who think they have attained what they have not, and the latter is for those who now become hesitant and doubtful, and decline due to discouragement, or if I have not attained, then others will not attain either, like this, they slander the noble ones, and take up the wrong view that leads to the lower realms, therefore they will decline. From the profound words of the noble ones, like before, what is faith? It is the explanation of conditioned and unconditioned phenomena through dependent origination and nirvana having three characteristics. For example, conditioned phenomena are impermanent, unconditioned phenomena are permanent, conditioned phenomena are suffering, and nirvana is peace. If all these conditioned phenomena are summarized, they are only suffering and the cause of suffering. If unconditioned phenomena are summarized, they are only the cessation of suffering and its cause. For a monk who attains nirvana in this life and cuts off suffering, there will be no path of causes for rebirth, and in the future, there will be no suffering as a result. When one enters nirvana without the residue of aggregates, there will be no continuity of suffering. The aggregates drawn by previous karma will also cease naturally. The end of suffering is like this, from here, there is neither anyone who previously transmigrated, nor anyone who now completely enters nirvana. The meaning expressed in this passage should be understood from the profound words of the noble ones, as mentioned before. Dependent origination is extremely profound in nature, but for some it appears very clear, which can be divided into two situations.
