Therefore. With three aspects, it should be known that the mind is extremely liberated, that is, to fully understand all activities, and to directly abandon the afflictions that are in accordance with this, and abandoning afflictions is to abide in all times and places without attachment. Among them, with four aspects, the real existing activities are fully understood, that is, impermanence and so on. With eleven aspects, the amount of all that exists is fully understood, that is, the past and the future, etc., as mentioned before. The second volume of the Compendium of Matters from the Yogācārabhūmi. These two are the pervasively afflicted afflictions with five aspects, and have five causes and conditions. These two are to be abandoned after being fully understood by the learner, and the non-learner has already abandoned them, that is, the pervasively afflicted afflictions of view and the pervasively afflicted afflictions of pride. These two also become five kinds of differences through the aspects, pervasive entanglement, and the door of latent tendencies, that is, grasping at self, grasping at what belongs to self, conceit of "I am," manifestation, and latent tendencies. Among them, these two are based on grasping at self, grasping at what belongs to self, and conceit of "I am," and strongly grasping and manifesting on the object of their focus, thinking that only this is real and everything else is meaningless. In this way, it should be known that manifestation is in the manner of pervasive entanglement. The seed that follows the continuum is latent tendency. They also rely on this body together with consciousness and external objects, and there are five causes and conditions, that is, from the cause and condition of grasping at self to the cause and condition of latent tendency, etc. That cause and condition also has two aspects, that is, the cause and condition of the object and the cause and condition of the cause. Among them, the object cause and condition of grasping at self and conceit of "I am" is this body together with consciousness. Grasping at what belongs to self is both. Among them, the cause and condition of the cause of manifestation is hearing non-Dharma, inappropriate attention, and its latent tendency. The cause of its latent tendency

The reason is not fully understanding the aggregates as they truly are, and being accustomed to complete entanglement. These four are types of sentient beings, and it should be understood that these pervasive afflictions are established for them. What are the four? Namely: adherents of other religions, ordinary beings in this Dharma, those in training, and those who are not in training. Among them, adherents of other religions possess everything completely. Ordinary beings in this Dharma possess four types of reasons, and one aspect of manifest clinging. There is no manifest clinging. Those in training possess the two, self-grasping and grasping at what belongs to self, as well as manifest clinging with a cause, and two latencies, and manifest clinging to the pride of thinking "I am" without a cause. The pride of thinking "I am" possesses latency. Those not in training possess nothing at all. Among them, adherents of other religions merely enter into not abandoning those. Ordinary beings in this Dharma enter in order to correctly abandon, but because they have not seen things as they truly are, they have not yet abandoned them. Those in training have abandoned some, and some have entered in order to abandon, and have also seen things as they truly are, but because they have not obtained the knowledge of cessation and non-arising, they do not know that they have seen. Those not in training have abandoned everything, and also know that they have truly seen all that belongs to the aggregates. These eight are places for expressing purification, what are the eight? Because of completely transcending views and pride, the mind that is said to have completely transcended appearances is a place for expressing purification, and because of abandoning its signs, it is without signs, and because of abandoning manifest clinging to it, it is peaceful, and because of abandoning its self-nature latency, it is utterly liberated. Furthermore, there are two places for expressing the purification of those in training, namely: cutting off craving, or reversing the three bonds, namely: the behavior of completely not engaging in all aggregates that generate craving again, and expressing the purification of those not in training.
