And abiding, the instruction of definite arising, truly shows the method of complete purification. Instructions should also be understood as fourfold: showing the fear and place of entry for complete purification and all afflictions, showing the complete abandonment of the cause of all afflictions, showing the complete abandonment of the cause of fear of complete purification, and showing the method of supremely abiding in happiness in this life. Among these, the causes of all afflictions are twofold: appearing to cling to and constantly discriminating the nature of all afflictions by the nature arising from terminology; and appearing to cling to and constantly discriminating this as merit and fault. The causes of fear of the path of purification should also be understood as twofold: constantly discriminating those with all afflictions on the gradual path of purification; and constantly discriminating separation from all afflictions. The causes of fear of the complete purification of nirvana should also be understood as twofold: due to appearing to cling to the nature arising from terminology, establishing the name of the term "nirvana" as a name born from mind, and constantly discriminating the name born from mind as the name of the term called "peace." Showing the supreme method of abiding in happiness should be understood from the complete abandonment of the causes of both of these. What is said in veiled language? The cause of entering into all veiled language is knowing the nature of non-duality. What is the nature of non-duality? That is, whatever thing becomes the basis of what is said, since that nature is not existent, and since the nature of the object of names accustomed to speech is not non-existent, therefore it is non-dual. For that non-duality, due to appearing to cling to duality, it becomes all afflictions, and due to not appearing to cling to duality, it becomes complete purification. Whatever thing is not the basis of all that is said, since the nature of the object of names accustomed to terminology is not existent, and since the nature of the object of knowledge not accustomed to this is existent, therefore it is two.

It is nowhere. Clinging to the appearance of duality in the non-dual nature leads to complete affliction, while not clinging to the appearance of duality leads to complete purification. Therefore, it should be understood that the characteristic of non-duality will be incorporated into all the hidden speech of the Tathagatas. Here, it should be understood that everything spoken in hidden language relies on the five perfections of the teacher, the five perfections of the fruit of his teachings, and the five perfections of the benefits of the fruit. What are the five perfections of the teacher? That is, why he guides, with what he guides, what he guides, how he guides, and to where he guides, these are the perfections. What are the perfections of the fruit? That is, the realm of nirvana without remainder, the realm of nirvana with remainder, the complete noble path, completely overcoming the inner enemy, and completely overcoming the external enemy. Here, the perfections of the benefits of the fruit are: serving the teacher, completely purifying generosity with faith, completely transcending the suffering of samsara, not diminishing from the objects of generosity, and relying on the Tathagata, becoming a son of the Tathagata, born of Dharma. What are the benefits of faith in the teachings of the Bodhisattva? This should be understood in five ways: at the time of blessing the field, overwhelming the cause of perfectly accomplishing the great lord of power, perfectly accomplishing the place, becoming a vessel for the teachings of that place, becoming a vessel for the teacher, and at the time of abandoning the body, the view and karma will be completely purified. Here, overwhelming the cause of perfectly accomplishing the great lord of power should be understood in five ways: producing measurable and immeasurable fruits, the nature of the cause being exhaustible and inexhaustible, accomplishing small and great bliss, that being the nature of the collection of wisdom, and thereby guiding it. Here, the actions of the body will bring six faults.
