What is the individual discernment that should be abandoned in an instant? To fully realize this as it is, is as follows: Those mindful attentions that fully discern the grasped and the grasper, through the cause of those mindful attentions, what is the definite knowledge that arises in accordance with individual self-awareness? How is ultimate emptiness spoken of? From one aspect, it is from seeing the knowledge of the selflessness of phenomena as it is. To see it as it is, is as follows: Because karma and afflictions are seen as having the same characteristic, it is the inexpressible nature of reality; because it is devoid of the nature that arises from terms; therefore, there is no appearance to be fixated upon; because it is momentary. How is the power of emptiness itself spoken of? From one aspect, it is from fully showing the antidote that abandons karma and afflictions. To abandon it is as follows: Because the appearance of knowledge arises in that very instant, it abandons all karma and afflictions that have arisen from beginningless time. What is a Shravaka? What is the difference between the training of a Shravaka and the training of a Bodhisattva? There are four types of Shravakas. The difference between the training of a Shravaka and the training of a Bodhisattva should be understood in thirteen ways. Emanated Shravakas, Shravakas with pride, Shravakas who are completely transformed into Bodhi, and Shravakas who have a single path of peace. Among these, an emanated Shravaka is an emanation by a Bodhisattva for the purpose of taming sentient beings. Among these, a Shravaka with pride is the correct realization of the knowledge of the selflessness of the person, and the knowledge of the inverted fixation on the selflessness of phenomena. Among these, a Shravaka who is completely transformed into Bodhi is one who, from the very beginning, has become a lineage with very little compassion, and because of being close to the Tathagata, has developed a mindstream that has fully meditated on the qualities of the vast Dharma of the Buddhas, and even though they ultimately abide in the uncontaminated realm of reality, they are still

They cause to urge, cause to enter, and also show the means of approach. By that cause, what is it that accomplishes the great Bodhi? Although it accomplishes the great Bodhi in that way, because of its great delight in peace, the realization of that union becomes very gentle, and even the first generation of Buddhas who generate the mind does not become like that. Among them, the Hearer who practices only peaceful conduct is from the very beginning a lineage of very small compassion, and because he does not tend to the benefit of sentient beings at all, and because he is afraid of suffering, he becomes only a thinker who abides in Nirvana, and he has no share in accomplishing the great Bodhi. For example, like two sons of a king born in the same place, and who have become equally equal by the enjoyment of the king's happiness, one of whom is skilled in the affairs of the king, the scriptures, and the place of craftsmanship, and the other is not, those two are only different by that limb, but not by the enjoyment of the king's happiness, so in the realm of the immaculate, the difference between the Bodhisattva and the Hearer who practices only peaceful conduct should also be known, the difference between the two is the mind, and the true accomplishment of white Dharma, and the true accomplishment of wisdom, and the following, and the lineage, and the true holding of the lineage, and the union, and the power, and the accomplishment, and the appropriateness of the place of giving, and the surpassing from the excellent, and from the cause and the effect, and also from the basis of arising should be known. The Hearer is a thinker who abides only in peace because of his actions and afflictions, and because he does not tend to the benefit of sentient beings, but the Bodhisattva is the opposite of that even if he attains peace. The Hearer is one who possesses small white Dharmas that make his own happiness truly increase, but the Bodhisattva is one who possesses immeasurable white Dharmas that make the happiness of all sentient beings truly increase. The Hearer is himself with the wisdom of the uncreated
