The former is the cause of the latter, as well as the ultimate emptiness, and it speaks of such power. How is the emptiness of a person spoken of? Through completely showing non-observation in one way. That non-observation is this: Regarding the three things, namely the things of sentient beings, their various things, and their things of enjoyment, the self that children have conceived of, whether internal, external, or both, is not observed. How is the selflessness of a person spoken of? Through completely showing observation in only one way. That observation is this: Regarding the three things, namely that very dependent arising, because of not observing permanence, the difference between the self conceived by children and its characteristics is observed. How is the emptiness of phenomena spoken of? Through completely showing non-observation in only one way. That non-observation is this: Regarding the three things, namely that which is included by impermanence, apart from the self-nature arising from names that children have conceived of, whether internal, external, or both, is not observed. How is the selflessness of phenomena spoken of? Through completely showing observation in only one way. That observation is this: Regarding that very thing, the sphere of activity of the wisdom of the noble ones, those that are in accordance with their own individual wisdom, and which are also inexpressible to others, whatever that is, is observed. In that, too, through six ways, the difference between the self-nature and characteristics arising from names that children have conceived of is observed. What are the six ways? One cannot examine it oneself, it cannot be shown to others, it is completely beyond the sphere of activity of the senses of form, it is completely beyond all signs, it is completely beyond the sphere of activity of consciousness, and it is completely beyond the sphere of activity of afflictions. How is the extreme of superimposition spoken of? Through two ways, namely, completely showing the superimposition of distinctions and completely showing the superimposition of self-nature. What is the superimposition of distinctions? Eight ways from higher to higher, regarding that very thing, due to clinging to permanence, one superimposes.

And, due to clinging to impermanence, imputation arises, and due to clinging to permanence, imputation arises, relying on clinging to self, imputation arises, and relying on clinging to impermanence, clinging to selflessness, imputation arises, and clinging to selflessness, relying on clinging to the correct mind, imputation arises, and relying on clinging to self, clinging to the incorrect mind, imputation arises, and that is without mind and a seeker. The seeker is also the place of its complete imputation, and its complete imputation, and similarly possessing, that is, from the dissimilar side, for all afflicted dharmas, similarly possessing five faults, that is, the fault of inversion, and the fault of proliferation, and the fault of universally arising from misconduct, and the fault of bad rebirth, and the fault of impermanence itself. For its antidote, the purified ones, relying on clinging to the correct mind, from clinging to virtue and so on, up to clinging to purification, imputation arises, and relying on clinging to the incorrect mind, from clinging to non-virtue and so on, up to universal affliction, imputation arises. Those are eight kinds of specific imputation. Regarding this, the Bodhisattva neither clings to those imputations, nor allows others to cling to truth, nor praises them. Regarding this, the self-nature imputation is the place of specific imputation, that is, regarding the thing itself, children completely impute that the self-nature imputation arising from terms exists, thus imputing. How is the extreme of denigration spoken of? From completely showing the existing thing in one way, that is, denigrating the existing thing is like this: for example, wrongly believing in the selflessness of phenomena, completely clinging to the nature of all phenomena as emptiness itself. How is the manifestation of Dharma spoken of? Through three ways: the thing itself, and four
