If someone asks, how does a Bodhisattva abide in the ninth ground? The answer is: Because they have gained mastery over the collections of names, the collections of words, and the collections of letters, possess flawless wisdom, and in order to completely satisfy the minds of all sentient beings with immeasurable hundreds of thousands of skillful means, they have attained great distinct wisdom and are great Dharma speakers, therefore it is said that they abide in the ninth ground. If someone asks, how does a Bodhisattva abide in the tenth ground? The answer is: Because they have received the great empowerment of all Buddhas, have attained the Dharma body like a great cloud, and have attained great super-knowledge, it is also said that they abide in the Tathagata ground. If someone asks, how does a Bodhisattva abide in the Tathagata ground? The answer is: Because they have attained the Dharma body, and it is the very nature of extreme purity, as well as the nature of perfect accomplishment, therefore in all aspects, defilements and cognitive obscurations are purified, and it is wisdom and pure vision. If someone asks, how are these grounds truly practiced? The answer is: When a Bodhisattva begins from the ten grounds and enters the ten Dharma practices in the ground of faith and conduct. If someone asks, how are these grounds attained? The answer is: When a Bodhisattva enters the faultlessness of the Bodhisattva's true nature, and also attains pure intention, then all the grounds are attained simultaneously. If someone asks, what is the common cause of these grounds? The answer is: What arises from combining all the grounds with the path of favorable conditions after attainment. If someone asks, how is the perfect accomplishment of these grounds? The answer is: When a Bodhisattva abides in these grounds, even on each ground, they practice for countless hundreds of thousands of eons, then the power spoken of on these grounds can be obtained as desired. If someone asks, what are the five said to be entering faultlessness, what is the Hearer's entering faultlessness, what is the Bodhisattva's entering faultlessness, and if the realization of the Dharmadhatu is the same, then what difference is there to observe between them? The answer is: The Dharma dhatu of

In brief, there are two types of characteristics: specific characteristics and intrinsic characteristics. Among these, specific characteristics refer to the characteristics of permanence and the characteristics of peace. The characteristics of permanence refer to the nature of being unborn from the beginning and the nature of being inexhaustible. The characteristics of peace refer to the nature of being free from afflictions and suffering. Intrinsic characteristics refer to the absence of self in phenomena, where the nature of all phenomena encompassed by reasons, names, discriminations, suchness, and correct knowledge is not fully established within the nature of complete imputation. In this context, Śrāvakas realize the realm of phenomena through specific characteristics and thereby enter the faultless state of reality, but not through intrinsic characteristics. To realize this, they attain a definitive understanding of the realm of phenomena through the perception of immortality and the perception of bliss, as well as a non-conflicting perception of all conditioned phenomena. However, they do not fully comprehend the absence of self in phenomena, where the nature of those phenomena encompassed by reasons, etc., is not fully established, as it truly is. Entering the realm of phenomena, their mental activity is solely focused on the specific characteristics of the realm of phenomena, not on its intrinsic characteristics. Even if they hear teachings on the intrinsic characteristics of the realm of phenomena from others, some Śrāvakas may eventually transform into Bodhi, but this requires great effort to enter and they must also strive for it. The solitary path of peace is entered with great effort, but they do not strive for it. Bodhisattvas realize the realm of phenomena through both of these characteristics and thereby enter the faultless state of reality. Having entered the faultless state, they abide extensively in it through mental engagement focused on the intrinsic characteristics of the realm of phenomena. Why is this so? Because if they cultivate mental engagement focused on the specific characteristics of the realm of phenomena, they will quickly attain complete liberation from suffering.
