Being small, and being able to initiate diligence, therefore, the perfection of aspiration is the companion of the perfection of diligence. He, through repeatedly and correctly relying on the holy ones, and relying on listening to the holy Dharma, thereby obtains proper attention, and by completely reversing the weakness of superior intention, thereby obtains the power of intention in an abundant realm, that is his power perfection, because he is able to settle the mind within, therefore, the power perfection is the companion of the meditation perfection. That Bodhisattva meditates on the object of hearing the Dharma treasury, which is completely cultivated, that is his wisdom perfection, because he is able to manifestly accomplish the wisdom that transcends the world, therefore, I have fully revealed that the wisdom perfection is the companion of the perfection of wisdom. World Honored One, why should one understand that the order of these six perfections is taught in this way? Avalokiteśvara, because they are the basis for increasing more and more. If a Bodhisattva does not care about body and enjoyment, he will take the precepts correctly. If he guards the precepts, he will become endowed with patience. Endowed with patience, he will initiate diligence. If he initiates diligence, he will cultivate meditation. If meditation is accomplished, he will obtain wisdom that transcends the world. World Honored One, how are these perfections classified? Avalokiteśvara, they are divided into three types. There are three types of giving: Dharma giving, material giving, and fearlessness giving. There are three types of discipline: the discipline of turning away from non-virtue, the discipline of entering into virtue, and the discipline of entering into the benefit of sentient beings. There are three types of patience: the patience of not being angry with those who harm, the patience of not caring about suffering, and the patience of definitely understanding the Dharma. There are three types of diligence: armor diligence and diligence in engaging in good.

Diligence is the application of diligence for the benefit of sentient beings. The three kinds of Samadhi are: the Samadhi that does not discriminate and is peaceful, extremely peaceful, and abides in bliss as an antidote to afflictions and suffering; the Samadhi that accomplishes qualities; and the Samadhi that accomplishes the benefit of sentient beings. The three kinds of wisdom are: focusing on the conventional truth, focusing on the ultimate truth, and focusing on the benefit of sentient beings. World-Honored One, why are those Paramitas called Paramitas? Avalokiteshvara, it is because of five reasons: the nature of non-attachment, the nature of non-expectation, the nature of non-fault, the nature of non-discrimination, and the nature of complete dedication. Among them, the nature of non-attachment refers to the absence of excessive attachment to things that are incompatible with Paramita. Among them, the nature of non-expectation refers to the absence of expectation for the ripening result of Paramita, the benefit of return, and the mind of connection. Among them, the nature of non-fault refers to the fact that those Paramitas are not mixed with contaminated Dharmas and completely abandon non-expedient means. Among them, the nature of non-discrimination refers to the absence of literal clinging to the self-nature of those Paramitas. Among them, the nature of complete dedication refers to the aspiration that those Paramitas themselves, what has been done and accumulated, become the fruit of great Bodhi. World-Honored One, what are the things that are incompatible with Paramita? Avalokiteshvara, those should be known as six things: the joy of desire, enjoyment, power, and regarding one's own merit as the benefit of qualities, acting as one pleases with body, speech, and mind, being unable to endure contempt, the decline of non-diligence, clamor, the defilements of the world, indulging in distraction, and regarding the elaborations of terminology of seeing, hearing, distinguishing, and consciousness as the benefit of qualities. World-Honored One, what are the ripening fruits of those Paramitas? Avalokiteshvara

The Lord of the Earth should also be understood in six aspects: great enjoyment, going to happy realms, happiness without lack and without strife, many joys, being the lord of sentient beings, having no harm to the body, and being renowned for great power. World Honored One, what is the mixture of those perfections with all defiled dharmas? Avalokiteśvara, the Lord, should be understood through four combinations: the combination of no compassion, the combination of non-skillful means, the combination of not always doing, and the combination of not respecting. Among them, the combination of non-skillful means is this: for other perfections, lacking the means of perfections different from them, and the meditation is degenerated, that is the combination of non-skillful means. World Honored One, what is not skillful means? Avalokiteśvara, when Bodhisattvas benefit sentient beings, if they are content with only helping them with material things, and do not lead them from unwholesome places to wholesome places, that is not skillful means. Why? Avalokiteśvara, just doing that does not truly benefit sentient beings. For example, impure things, whether large or small, cannot be made fragrant by any means. Similarly, sentient beings who are troubled by the suffering of conditioned existence and whose nature is suffering cannot be made happy by any means by merely helping them with material things. Only placing them in virtue is the best way to benefit them. World Honored One, how many kinds of purity are there for those perfections? Avalokiteśvara, except for those five aspects, I do not say that there are other purities of the perfections, but nevertheless, I will rely on them to explain to you the summary and distinctions of the purity of the perfections. Among them, the summary of the purity of all perfections should be understood through seven aspects. What are these seven aspects? For example, Bodhicitta.
