If one can correctly understand the individual entities and correctly understand the individual meanings, then how does one correctly understand the individual dharmas? How does one correctly understand the individual meanings? Maitreya correctly understands the individual dharmas in five ways, namely: name, sentence, letter, individual, and aggregate. What is name? With respect to all defiled and purified dharmas, whatever is nominally designated as the name of entity and difference is name. What is sentence? In order to apply terms in accordance with the meaning of defilement and purification, whatever relies on the collection of locations, supports, and those very names is sentence. What is letter? It is the letters of the location of those two. What is the correct understanding of each individual thing from those individual things? It is the correct understanding of each individual thing through the attention that focuses on the unmixed. What is the correct understanding of each individual thing from the aggregate? It is the correct understanding of each individual thing through the attention that focuses on the mixed. When all of those are combined into one, it is called the correct understanding of each individual dharma, and that is how one correctly understands each individual dharma. Bodhisattvas correctly understand the individual meanings in ten ways, namely: suchness of what exists, suchness of how it exists, the meaning of grasping, the meaning of what is grasped, the meaning of location, the meaning of enjoyment, the meaning of perversion, the meaning of non-perversion, the meaning of defilement, and the meaning of purification. Maitreya, with respect to defiled and purified dharmas, whatever is the ultimate end of all kinds of thorough distinctions is the suchness of what exists. For example, the number of aggregates is five, the number of internal sources (internal six sources) is six, and the number of external sources (external six sources) is also only six, and so on. Maitreya, whatever is the suchness of those very defiled and purified dharmas is the suchness of how it exists. It also has seven aspects: the suchness of arising is the beginningless and endless nature of actions (formations). The suchness of characteristics is the selflessness of persons in all dharmas.

That which I say is the selflessness of phenomena. The suchness of complete understanding is that which is merely the complete understanding of all phenomena. The suchness of abiding is that which I have shown as the truth of suffering. The suchness of reversed establishment is that which I have shown as the truth of the origin. The suchness of complete purification is that which I have shown as the truth of cessation. The suchness of truly establishing is that which I have shown as the truth of the path. Maitreya, the suchness of arising, the suchness of abiding, and the suchness of reversed establishment, these make all sentient beings the same and equal. Maitreya, the suchness of characteristics and the suchness of complete understanding, these make all phenomena the same and equal. Maitreya, the suchness of complete purification is the enlightenment of the Hearers, the enlightenment of the Solitary Buddhas, and the enlightenment of unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, all these enlightenments are the same and equal. Maitreya, the suchness of truly establishing makes the wisdom gathered by all the teachings that are mixed, the shamatha and vipassana focused on the Dharma, the same and equal. Maitreya, the object of grasping is the five form aggregates, mind, intellect, consciousness, and mental factors. Maitreya, the object of what is grasped are the six external sense bases. Maitreya, the object of what is grasped is also the object of what is grasped. Maitreya, the object of abiding is the world realm, where sentient beings abide, the realm of sentient beings appears. For example, a village, a hundred villages, a thousand villages, a hundred thousand villages, land reaching to the ocean, a hundred oceans, a thousand oceans, a hundred thousand oceans, Jambudvipa, a hundred Jambudvipas, a thousand Jambudvipas, a hundred thousand Jambudvipas, the four continents, a hundred of the four continents, a thousand of the four continents, a hundred thousand of the four continents, a thousand world systems, a hundred thousand world systems, a thousand thousand world systems, a hundred thousand thousand world systems, a two-thousand intermediate world system, a hundred two-thousand intermediate world systems, a thousand two-thousand

Furthermore, the realm of the three-thousand great thousand world, and that hundred, and that thousand, and that hundred thousand, and that billion, and that hundred billion, and that thousand billion, and that hundred trillion, and that countless, and that countless hundred, and that countless thousand, and that countless hundred trillion, the immeasurable countless worlds of the ten directions, the amount of dust motes of countless hundred trillions of the three-thousand great thousand world. Maitreya, regarding this, the meaning of enjoyment is for the sake of complete enjoyment, I, for the sake of the complete grasping and the displayed implements of sentient beings, those that are. Maitreya, regarding this, the meaning of perversion is regarding those meanings themselves of clinging and so forth, the perverted notion of clinging to permanence in impermanence, and the perverted mind, perverted view, clinging to happiness in suffering, clinging to purity in impurity, the perverted notion of clinging to self in selflessness, and the perverted mind, what is the perverted view. Maitreya, regarding this, the meaning of non-perversion is the opposite of this, it should be known as its antidote. Maitreya, regarding this, the meaning of all-pervasive affliction is threefold, the all-pervasive affliction of the afflictions of the three realms, and the all-pervasive affliction of karma, and the all-pervasive affliction of birth. Maitreya, regarding this, the meaning of purification is, in order to be separated from those three kinds of all-pervasive afflictions themselves, what are the dharmas that are in accordance with the aspects of enlightenment. Maitreya, it should be known that those ten aspects encompass all meanings. Maitreya, Bodhisattvas know the meanings individually and correctly with five aspects, what are the five meanings? The object to be completely known, and the meaning to be completely known, and complete knowledge, and obtaining the fruit of complete knowledge, and thoroughly understanding this. Maitreya, regarding this, the object to be completely known should be regarded as all knowable things, for example, called aggregates and so forth, or called inner sources and so forth, or called outer sources and so forth, or like that and so forth.
