Therefore. That is, initially, by the aspect of being connected to my meaning, one is completely liberated from the obscurations of afflictions. Therefore, the Tathagata categorizes them as belonging to the Shravaka lineage. The ultimate and true noble one is like this: my Doctrine and Discipline are well-spoken, exceedingly rich, revealing an exceedingly pure intention. As the Dharma is well-taught, the order of beings' inclinations also appears. In this ultimate and true noble one, the Tathagata, understanding from those very three aspects of no-self-nature, speaks of the sutra of guiding meaning in this way: all dharmas are without self-nature, all dharmas are unborn, unceasing, peaceful from the beginning, and naturally completely in Nirvana. Thus, the Dharma is taught. Among them, those beings who have generated great roots of virtue, completely purified obscurations, whose continuums are fully ripened, who have great faith, and who have perfectly accomplished great accumulations of merit and wisdom, when they hear this Dharma, they will thoroughly understand exactly as I intended to explain it, and they will also have faith in this Dharma, and they will also realize that meaning exactly as it is with wisdom, and by familiarizing themselves with that realization, they will quickly and only quickly attain that very ultimate result. And they will also gain faith in me: Alala, the Bhagavan is a perfectly complete Buddha, and he has perfectly awakened to all dharmas. Among them, those beings who have generated roots of virtue, purified obscurations, whose continuums are fully ripened, but whose faith is not great, whose great accumulations of merit and wisdom are not perfectly accomplished, who have a straightforward nature, who cannot dispel conceptual thoughts, who do not cling to their own views as supreme, when they hear this Dharma, although they may not thoroughly understand exactly as I intended to explain it, nevertheless they will have faith in this Dharma, and they will also gain faith: these sutras are spoken by the Tathagata, profound, appearing profound, endowed with emptiness, difficult to see, difficult to realize, inconceivable, not the domain of speculators, are the wise who examine closely, are understood by the intelligent, thus they believe.

Furthermore, those who, regarding the teachings on the meaning of those Sutras, think, "I do not understand," and remain thus, saying: "The enlightenment of the Buddha is profound, and the nature of all phenomena is also profound. Only the Tathagata knows it, we do not understand it." The Dharma taught by the Tathagatas is entered into by sentient beings with various inclinations. The Tathagatas have boundless knowledge and vision. Our knowledge and vision are only like the footprints of an ox. Thinking thus, they respect those Sutras, and also copy the words, and after writing the words, they also uphold them, and also recite them, and also give them truthfully, and also make offerings, and also receive transmissions, and also recite, and also chant. Although they do so, because they do not understand the profound meaning spoken according to my intention, they are unable to practice yoga. Those, based on that, will also increase the accumulation of merit, and will also increase the accumulation of wisdom, and wherever there are continuums that are not fully matured, they will also cause them to mature. If among those sentient beings, there are some sentient beings who have not perfectly accomplished the vast accumulation of merit and wisdom, and are not of an upright nature, however, those who are able to eliminate conceptualizations and abide in holding their own views as supreme, when they hear that Dharma, they will not be able to truly understand the profound meaning spoken according to my intention. Although they have faith in that Dharma, they think that all these Dharmas are without inherent existence, all these Dharmas are unborn, unceasing, primordially peaceful, and naturally completely liberated. Regarding the meaning of the Dharma, they only cling to the literal meaning. Those, based on that, will attain the view of regarding all Dharmas as non-existent and without characteristics. Having attained the view of non-existence and the view of without characteristics, they will then denigrate everything with all characteristics. They also denigrate the imputed characteristics of all Dharmas, and also denigrate the dependent characteristics and the perfectly established characteristics of all Dharmas. Why is that? Because the ultimate truth is like this.
