This is the wise one. The Tathagata, the Bodhisattva, is considered to be proficient in the characteristics of all dharmas, and that is all that is considered. Then, the Bhagavan at that time spoke these verses: If one knows well the dharma without characteristics, then one will abandon the characteristics of the afflictions. If one abandons the afflictions, then one will attain the characteristics of the utterly pure dharma. A careless person commits sins, a lazy person does not contemplate the faults of actions, and cherishes the impermanent and unstable dharmas with extreme deterioration. Thus it is said. Regarding the characteristic of the selflessness of all dharmas, it should be observed as it is said in the Sutra of Unraveling the Intentions. The Bodhisattva Don Dam Yang Dag Phag (Arya Paramartha) said to the Bhagavan: "Bhagavan, when I am alone in a secluded place, such a mental fabrication arises: The Bhagavan has taught in many ways the self-nature of the aggregates, and also the self-nature of birth, the self-nature of destruction, abandonment, and complete knowledge. Just like the aggregates, he has also taught the ayatanas, dependent origination, and food. The Bhagavan has taught in many ways the self-nature of the truths, and also complete knowledge, abandonment, realization, and cultivation. The Bhagavan has taught in many ways the self-nature of the elements, and also the diversity of the elements, the multiplicity of the elements, abandonment, and complete knowledge. The Bhagavan has taught in many ways the self-nature of the mindfulness, and also the opposing factors, the antidotes, the arising of the unborn, the abiding of the born, the non-arising, the cessation, the increase, and the vastness. Just like the mindfulness, he has also taught the right abandonments, the miraculous feet, the faculties, the powers, and the limbs of enlightenment. The Bhagavan

He also taught the self-nature of the Noble Eightfold Path in various ways. He also taught about the opposing aspects, the antidotes, the practice, the arising of those not yet born, the abiding of those already born, the non-arising, the re-arising, and the increasing and expanding. The Blessed One also declared that all dharmas are without intrinsic nature, all dharmas are unborn, unceasing, peaceful from the beginning, and naturally in complete nirvana. From what intention did the Blessed One declare that all dharmas are without intrinsic nature, all dharmas are unborn, unceasing, peaceful from the beginning, and naturally in complete nirvana? I wonder about this. From what intention did the Blessed One declare that all dharmas are without intrinsic nature, all dharmas are unborn, unceasing, peaceful from the beginning, and naturally in complete nirvana? I completely ask the Blessed One about this. After this request, the Blessed One spoke to the Bodhisattva Don Dam Yangdak Phak (Don Dam Yangdak Phak): "Don Dam Yangdak Phak, it is good that the virtuous and proper thoughts that arise in your mind are good! Good! Don Dam Yangdak Phak, it is very good that you have entered in this way for the benefit of many beings, for the happiness of many beings, for compassion for the world, for the benefit of the beings including gods and humans, and for benefit and happiness, and that you think to ask the Tathagata about this meaning! Don Dam Yangdak Phak, therefore, listen, and I will explain to you from what intention I declared that all dharmas are without intrinsic nature, all dharmas are unborn, unceasing, peaceful from the beginning, and naturally in complete nirvana. Don Dam Yangdak Phak, I have taught that all dharmas are without intrinsic nature based on these three aspects of non-intrinsic nature, namely, the non-intrinsic nature of characteristics, the non-intrinsic nature of arising, and the non-intrinsic nature of ultimate reality. Don Dam Yangdak Phak, what is the non-intrinsic nature of the characteristics of dharmas? It is the characteristic of complete imputation. Why is that?

Thus, this is the characteristic that is established by name and interpretation, but it does not abide by its own characteristic. Therefore, it is called the characteristic of no self-nature. What is the birth without self-nature of the true and authentic noble dharmas? It is the dependent nature of all dharmas. Why is that? Thus, it arises from the power of other conditions, not from its own nature, therefore it is called birth without self-nature. What is the ultimate self-naturelessness of the true and authentic noble dharmas? Those dharmas that arise dependently, which are self-natureless by birth without self-nature, are also self-natureless by ultimate self-naturelessness. Why is that? The pure object of the true and authentic noble dharmas, I have shown that it is ultimate, but the dependent nature is not a pure object. Therefore, it is called ultimate self-naturelessness. True and authentic noble dharmas, furthermore, the perfectly established nature of all dharmas is also called ultimate self-naturelessness. Why is that? The dharma-lessness of the true and authentic noble dharmas is called their self-naturelessness, which is ultimate, and the ultimate is distinguished by the self-naturelessness of all dharmas. Therefore, it is called ultimate self-naturelessness. True and authentic noble dharmas, in this regard, just as a flower in the sky, so one should regard the characteristic self-naturelessness. True and authentic noble dharmas, in this regard, just as an illusion, so one should also regard birth self-naturelessness. One should also regard the ultimate self-naturelessness as one. True and authentic noble dharmas, in this regard, just as the sky is distinguished only by the self-naturelessness of form, and pervades everywhere, so one should regard the ultimate self-naturelessness, distinguished by the dharma-lessness, and pervades everywhere.
