Because it does not belong to the nature of all afflictions, and for the nature of all formations, the ultimate nature has become the common nature. Therefore, it cannot be said that the nature of formations and the ultimate nature are not different, nor can it be said that the ultimate nature is different. For those who say so, saying that the nature of formations and the ultimate nature are not different, and saying that the ultimate nature is different, in that way, you have entered improperly, and it should be known that you have not entered properly. O, you of extremely pure intelligence, furthermore, if the nature of formations and the ultimate nature are not different, then just as the ultimate nature has no difference for everything, all the natures of formations will also become without difference. Yogis, for formations, how they see, how they hear, how they distinguish, how they know, from above these, they will no longer seek the ultimate. If the nature of formations and the ultimate nature are different, then the selflessness of formations alone, the absence of essence alone, will not be the ultimate nature. The nature of all afflictions and the nature of purification will also simultaneously be established as different natures. O, you of extremely pure intelligence, because the natures of formations are different, not without difference, and yogis, for formations, how they see, hear, distinguish, know, from above these, they will seek the ultimate, and the ultimate is distinguished by the selflessness of formations, and the nature of all afflictions and purification will not simultaneously be established as different natures, therefore, it cannot be said that the nature of formations and the ultimate nature are different or not different.

Those called differences, in terms of those categories, you enter into them improperly in this way, and you should understand that you do not enter into them properly. Wisdom is extremely pure, for example, is the whiteness of a conch shell itself not different in nature from the conch shell? Is it not easy to establish a difference in nature? Just as the whiteness of a conch shell is, so is the yellowness of gold. Is the pleasantness of the sound of a lute itself not different in nature from the sound of the lute itself? Is it not easy to establish a difference in nature? Is the fragrance of black agarwood itself not different in nature from black agarwood? Is it not easy to establish a difference in nature? Is the heat of cardamom itself not different in nature from cardamom? Is it not easy to establish a difference in nature? Just as the heat of cardamom is, so is the astringency of myrobalan. For example, is the softness of cotton fluff itself not different in nature from cotton fluff? Is it not easy to establish a difference in nature? For example, is the essence of ghee in ghee itself not different in nature from ghee? Is it not easy to establish a difference in nature? For example, is the impermanence of all conditioned phenomena, and the suffering of all contaminated phenomena, and the selflessness of all phenomena, not different in nature from them? Is it not easy to establish a difference in nature? Wisdom is extremely pure, for example, is the unpacified nature of desire, and the nature of complete affliction, not different in nature from a desirous person? Is it not easy to establish a difference in nature? Just as with desire, hatred and ignorance should also be understood in the same way. Wisdom is extremely pure, likewise, is the nature of conditioned phenomena and the nature of ultimate reality not different in nature? It is impossible to establish a difference in nature. Wisdom is extremely pure, I truly think in this way about the ultimate, subtle, extremely subtle, profound, extremely profound, difficult to realize, extremely difficult to realize difference and non-difference.

The nature of the ground is fully enlightened, and after fully enlightened, it is also declared and clarified, distinguished, established, and clearly shown. Then, the Blessed One spoke these verses at that time: The aggregate realm and the ultimate nature are the nature of being free from one and different. Whoever clings to one and different natures, those are the ones who have entered improperly. The arising one, after practicing insight and, quiescence, will be liberated from the bondage of evil destinies and, the bondage of signs. Thus it was said. Among them, the nature of being of one taste in all things should be viewed as it is stated in the Sutra Unraveling the Intention, the Blessed One said to the Venerable Subhuti: Subhuti, in the realm of sentient beings, how many sentient beings are there who are possessed by manifest pride, stained by manifest pride, and who understand knowledge? How many sentient beings are there in the realm of sentient beings who do not have manifest pride and who understand knowledge? Subhuti replied: Blessed One, I think that in the realm of sentient beings, there are few sentient beings who do not have manifest pride and who understand knowledge. Blessed One, I think that in the realm of sentient beings, those who have manifest pride, are stained by manifest pride, and understand knowledge are countless, innumerable, and unspeakable. Blessed One, once upon a time, I was in a large solitary forest, and at that time there were also many monks near me, who also relied on and resided in the large solitary forest. In the morning, those monks came and met each other, and then communicated knowledge by showing the direct perception of various objects of Dharma. Among them, some are those who focus on the aggregates, focus on the characteristics of the aggregates, focus on the arising of the aggregates, focus on the destruction of the aggregates, focus on the cessation of the aggregates, and focus on the manifestation of the cessation of the aggregates.
