And, when causing the roots of virtue to be truly upheld, not being controlled, and being urged by an afflicted mind or a completely afflicted thought, and being urged by a demon or being possessed by a demon in order to create obstacles, and urging in an inappropriate place, that is, asking parents or any other object that should not be given, and not seeking for benefit, in this way, it should be understood that these aspects are to be examined as not being a field. One should give a gift that is free from the fault of non-skillful means and possesses the qualities of skillful means, and the skillful means for that is as follows: for example, being accustomed to giving, not regarding body and life, having compassion for sentient beings, understanding that sole meaning, having faith in unsurpassed enlightenment, speaking, strongly suppressing, applying benefit in return for kindness, and being in accordance with birth. If discipline is summarized, it can be known in three ways: first, regarding the discipline of the Blessed One's hearers, how the discipline of the precepts of restraint is summarized, that should be regarded as the summary of discipline. What is the summary of the discipline of the precepts of gathering virtuous dharmas? A Bodhisattva who strives in the discipline of gathering virtuous dharmas, if briefly summarized, should examine six minds separately, what are the six? In particular, the mind of killing, the mind possessing laziness, the obscured mind, the mind completely weary from exertion, the mind possessing harm, and the mind possessing obstacles. Among these, the very thought of abandoning the virtuous dharmas of a Bodhisattva, the very thought of displeasure, and the very thought of contempt, that is called the mind of especially killing. The mind completely entangled by laziness, sloth, sloth, and carelessness is called the mind possessing laziness. The mind completely entangled by any obscuration of afflictions and near afflictions such as desire and craving is called the obscured mind. The mind overwhelmed by the fatigue of the body and the disturbance of the mind, having initiated and abided in diligence, is called completely from exertion

It is called the mind of weariness. The mind that is overwhelmed by any harm and has no power to endure the application of the mind is called the mind with harm. The mind with obstacles, such as delighting in speech, is called the mind with obstacles. Bodhisattvas should examine these six minds separately in this way: Does any of these six minds strongly operate in my mind? Or is it not? One should contemplate separately in this way. For Bodhisattvas, the first three minds should not be accepted all at once when they arise. If one accepts them and does not abandon them, then everything will become faulty. When the mind that is completely weary from exertion arises, if this kind of mind abandons the application to virtuous dharmas, thinking, "In any case, I will separately eliminate what makes body and mind weary and disturbed, and then apply myself to virtuous dharmas again," then there will be no fault. If one thinks, "What is the use of applying myself to virtue, which will cause me suffering in this life?" and completely abandons it in every way, then there will be fault. When the mind with harm is near, since the Bodhisattva's application to virtue is not at will, there is no fault in accepting it. When the mind with obstacles is near, if one truly sees that it is not at will or that there is a very great meaning and accepts it, then there is no fault. If one sees that it is at will, or meaningless, or that there is a very small meaning and accepts it, then there will be fault. Among these six minds, accepting the arising of the first three minds all at once will be faulty. Only the mind with harm, even if accepted, is not faulty at all. The arising and acceptance of the remaining two minds will be faulty or not faulty depending on the circumstances. Sentient beings
