These are the ten aspects of complete purification, such as being without attachment and without defilement, etc., which are completely purified by those taught in the "Ground of Objects," and giving alms that are free from the impurity of the impure. That is to say, completely examining the object to be given, completely examining the intention, and completely examining the field, and having completely examined, giving alms that are free from the defilement of perverse wisdom. Among these, completely examining the object to be given refers to the fact that completely enjoying by accumulating wealth is most excellent, and that giving by the one who completely enjoys is most excellent. Why is that? Because merely accumulating wealth does not benefit oneself, nor does it benefit others, nor does it benefit this life, nor does it benefit future lives. However, the complete enjoyment of a Bodhisattva benefits oneself and benefits this life, but it does not benefit others, nor does it benefit future lives. And the almsgiving of a Bodhisattva who generates great joy and supreme joy benefits oneself, benefits others, benefits this life, and benefits future lives. Among these, completely examining the intention should be understood as fourfold: giving alms with the intention that is not inverted with respect to the cause, with the intention that is without attachment to the result, with the intention of having compassion for sentient beings, and with the intention of perfecting the all-knowing wisdom. Among these, completely examining the field should be understood as fivefold: focusing on who is truly seeking benefit, who is both truly seeking benefit and is impoverished, who is both impoverished and without reliance, and who is both without reliance and is able to turn away from misconduct, focusing on these is the field. Even if these are not present, then focusing on who is practicing well and who is particularly superior in qualities, it should be understood that this is the fifth field. Those who are not fields should be understood as sevenfold: a violent beggar, and one who has taken refuge in an outsider, who becomes an outsider and then begs.
