The pure knowledge based on the faults, the pure knowledge based on the removal of defilements, the pure knowledge based on completely abandoning sinful friends and completely relying on virtuous spiritual friends, and the pure knowledge based on the six directions being covered. Among them, the first pure knowledge is able to fully understand the various names of generosity as they truly are, as well as the nature of generosity, the exact meaning of the words, and the detailed classifications. The second is to establish the mind of the place of generosity for all sentient beings, inferior, rich, with defects, with qualities, harmful, and beneficial, and to know the wishes of the beggars even slightly, and before giving, to give all things to be given to all sentient beings from the bottom of their hearts, and to give everything that the beggars themselves insist on taking. The third is that whatever skills and activities are mastered, they can quickly and skillfully accomplish the enjoyment and give alms, and from the point of view of fully accepting the roots of virtue, for example, in the previous life or in this life, or the magical powers will be manifested, or from the point of view of truly accepting the Dharma, alms are also given. It is also possible to give alms with the enjoyment accomplished by others, for example, by allowing others to truly hold those enjoyments and then becoming their helpers in doing things. The fourth is that in any case, the beggar should not be disturbed, and that he should give alms with a non-disturbing mind, and that those who are finely distinguished and seek meaning, and those who are poor, and those who have no refuge, and those who behave improperly, and those who behave properly, and those who eat from their own gardens, such as giving alms with poor, medium or rich enjoyment, and giving alms with various rituals, and knowing that alms should not be given without rituals.

Thus he acts. The fifth is that, in order to fully ripen sentient beings, he knows giving and practices giving, and when giving, he gives together with many people, and strives to make many people accumulate great merit, acting in that way. For those poor who want to give, he distributes possessions, and for those who are not poor but are miserly, and for those who are not miserly and want to give, he does not distribute his own possessions, but goes to help them. For others who want to do the work of the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, he gives the things to be given, and strives to make merit arise from both sides, and in that way also causes others to do it. The sixth is that he practices giving through teaching, and he practices giving through power. He also practices giving from expecting a return. He also practices giving through birth and power. The seventh is that, having thoroughly understood the faults of desires as they are, he practices giving. He also knows two kinds of faults, namely, the faults of this life and the faults of the next life, as it is said in the Sutra of the Heap of Suffering. He also knows five kinds, as it is said in the Sutra of the Five Faults. He also knows six kinds, as it is said in the Sutra which teaches that the term "fear" is a euphemism for desires, and so on. He also knows seven kinds, as it is said that desires are impermanent, accumulating, consuming, false, deceptive, like illusions, and enticing children. He also knows eight kinds, as it is said in the Sutra from "like a skeleton" to "as expansive as the fruit of a tree." The eighth is that, having truly known how to be free from the fourteen kinds of tainted karmic extremes, he practices giving, and these are also as it is said in the Sutra of Taking the Topknot.

Namo. Ninth, completely abandon the four evil friends, completely rely on the four virtuous friends, and thus practice giving. These are as stated in the Sutra of Taking the Crest Jewel. Tenth, with pure wisdom, prevent with six methods, and thus practice giving. These are as stated in the Sutra of Taking the Crest Jewel. Then, the ten completely pure defilements are as follows: whether internal or external; whether distant or near; whether the body is tired or not; whether the body is weak or not, practice giving free from the defilement of laziness. Like this: practice giving free from the defilement of attachment to enjoyments. Like this: practice giving free from the defilement of hatred towards beggars. Like this: practice giving free from the defilement of ignorance towards cause and effect. Like this: with those four obstacles, practice giving free from the defilement of obstacles. Then, the defilements of the four obstacles are these: like this: unfamiliarity, decline, attachment, and not seeing the result. Like this: the poor to their own field's vegetables, etc., the medium enjoyer to those and the suffering ones, and the great enjoyer to those and those other beggars, all very distinguished, practice giving free from the defilement of inappropriateness. Like this: from the completeness of things and the completeness of intention, practice giving free from the defilement of completeness and smallness. Then, the completeness of things is seven kinds: also giving the things of utensils, the things of land, the things of sentient beings, the things of decoration, the things of dwelling, the things of its dwelling, and also giving the internal things. Then, the completeness of intention is obtaining the intention itself that is naturally free from attachment to the internal body and enjoyments, etc. Like this
