It should be understood that it becomes knowable by relying on (it). The three natures and the three lack of nature, namely, the lack of nature of characteristics, the lack of nature of arising, and the lack of nature of ultimate reality. Among them, in terms of the lack of nature of characteristics, the nature of the completely imputed is without nature. Among them, in terms of the lack of nature of arising and the lack of nature of ultimate reality, the nature of the dependent is without nature, because it does not arise by itself and because it is not a pure object. Only in terms of the lack of nature of ultimate reality, the nature of the thoroughly established is without nature. Why is that? Because it is the ultimate reality of all dharmas and is distinguished by the lack of nature. Among these three natures, how many are to be fully known? Answer: All. How many are to be abandoned? Answer: One. How many are to be attained? Answer: One. The meaning of all sutras that need to be guided should also be rectified by these three natures. The meaning of the immeasurable and stable teachings that the Tathagatas realized and proclaimed, and the meanings that the Bodhisattvas realized and explained, should also be understood accordingly through these three natures. As it is said, "Tolerance of the unborn dharma," what is its establishment like? Answer: By the three natures. Relying on the nature of the completely imputed, the tolerance of the unborn from the beginning is established. Relying on the nature of the dependent, the tolerance of the self-unborn is established. Relying on the nature of the thoroughly established, the tolerance of the non-arising of the defilements of afflictions and suffering is established, and it should be understood that it is irreversible. These three doors of liberation are established based on the three natures. Relying on the nature of the completely imputed, the door of liberation, emptiness, is established. Relying on the nature of the dependent, the door of liberation, wishlessness, is established. Relying on the nature of the thoroughly established

Depending on its own nature, the door to liberation, the absence of characteristics, is established. Is the nature of the completely imputed the consciousness of a child, or the wisdom of a noble one, or what kind of consciousness is not the object of experience? It is said: It is not the object of any, because it is the absence of characteristics. What kind of consciousness is the object of experience of the nature of the dependent? It is said: It is the object of both, but it is not the object of experience of the wisdom of the noble one that transcends the world. What kind of consciousness is the object of experience of the perfectly established nature? It is said: It is only the object of experience of the wisdom of the noble one. Is the yogi who understands the nature of the completely imputed said to practice with characteristics, or is he said to practice without characteristics? It is said: Understanding with worldly consciousness is said not to practice with characteristics. Understanding with transcendental consciousness is said to practice without characteristics. Just as the nature of the completely imputed, so too should the nature of the dependent and the nature of the perfectly established be observed. The yogi who truly enters the nature of the completely imputed, which nature does he follow? It is said: He follows the nature of the perfectly established. The yogi who follows the nature of the perfectly established, which nature does he destroy? It is said: He destroys the nature of the dependent. How many aspects are there to the nature of the completely imputed? It is said: As many as there are natures of the dependent that establish self-nature and distinctions, so many are the natures of the completely imputed. The various distinctions of the nature of the completely imputed should be known to be immeasurable. Furthermore, attachment to the nature of the dependent appearing as the nature of the completely imputed should be known to be twofold: being awake and the latent habitual tendencies of being accustomed to it. How many aspects are there to the nature of the dependent? It is said: The various distinctions of this should be observed according to reason. Furthermore, the nature of the dependent is twofold: the nature of the completely imputed.
