Therefore, whatever arises in dependence, if it is not a place, not a time, then it is without a place. Whatever is the opposite of that, that is with a place. Just as with the earth, so too should the other great elements be examined appropriately. One who is born and arises in the desire realm, and has not obtained the divine eye, is able to see the forms of the gods, if that is not a place, not a time, then it is without a place. Being able to see the forms of humans, that is with a place. Likewise, the remaining faculties should also be examined appropriately. Being overwhelmed by craving and attachment, without abandoning that attachment, for various enjoyments, whatever turns into a mind without grasping, if that is not a place, not a time, then it is without a place. Whatever arises after abandoning, that is with a place. Likewise, anger and ignorance should also be examined appropriately. Being completely entangled by afflictions such as desire and near afflictions, without abandoning them, whatever becomes practicing the four mindfulnesses, if that is not a place, not a time, then it is without a place. Whatever arises after abandoning, that is with a place. Just as with the four mindfulnesses, so too are the other things that are in accordance with the aspects of enlightenment. Being in conflict with the Thus-Gone One, wanting to argue, and without abandoning the mind of regret, whatever is able to manifest the Thus-Gone One without intention, if that is not a place, not a time, then it is without a place. Whatever arises from abandoning or intention, that is with a place. The all-knowing one, the all-seeing one, is not able to know even a small object of knowledge, or because of forgetfulness, whatever becomes acting in a way that is not all-knowing, if that is not a place, not a time, then it is without a place. Whatever arises from not being all-knowing and not being all-seeing, that is with a place. A Bodhisattva falling into a bad state, thinking of sentient beings with evil thoughts, thereby generating a mind of harming sentient beings, or whatever becomes turning away from enlightenment, if that is not a place, not a time, then it is without a place. Whatever arises from not falling into a bad state, that is with a place. Thus, that which is similar to this is the fourth distinction concerning places and non-places, starting from here in detail.
