Should conceptualization be said to exist substantially, or should it be said to exist imputedly? Answer: Both can be said. Likewise, should suchness be said to exist substantially, or should it be said to exist imputedly? Answer: It should be said to exist substantially, because it is included in the ultimate truth. Should correct knowledge be said to exist substantially, or should it be said to exist imputedly? Answer: Both can be said, because whatever is knowledge exists substantially, and whatever mental events and mental factors are associated with knowledge are correct knowledge, therefore there are two aspects. Should causes be said to exist conventionally, or should they be said to exist ultimately? Answer: They should be said to exist conventionally. For two reasons: because they give rise to all afflictions, and because they are the basis of imputation. Should names be said to exist conventionally, or should they be said to exist ultimately? Answer: They should be said to exist conventionally. For three reasons: because they give rise to all afflictions, and because they are the basis of imputation, and because they are the locus of conventions. Should conceptualization be said to exist conventionally, or should it be said to exist ultimately? Answer: It should be said to exist conventionally. Answer: For four reasons: because it gives rise to all afflictions, and because it is the basis of imputation, and because it is the latency of conventions, and because it is the subsequent awakening of conventions. Should suchness be said to exist conventionally, or should it be said to exist ultimately? Answer: It should be said to exist ultimately, because it is the object of focus for imputation. Should correct knowledge be said to exist conventionally, or should it be said to exist ultimately? Answer: Initially, it should be said to exist ultimately. Secondly, both can be said. From what should causes be said to arise? Answer: They arise from causes, and they arise from previous conceptualization. From what should names be said to arise? Answer: They arise from the intention of a person.
