Regarding the past realm, one engages in slander, and those bonds should also be viewed as being aroused entirely by mental discrimination. Thereafter, by relying heavily on antidotes, the latent tendencies of those two, namely attachment and bonds, will also be abandoned. Because of abandoning them, the object of any affliction that focuses on form, feeling, etc., will also be permanently separated, thus the continuum will be severed. Because that continuum is severed, the cessation of consciousness together with latent tendencies, and the abiding of consciousness in form, feeling, etc., will not abide in those, because the consciousness that is the antidote to them is extremely pure. Thus, it should be known that it is the cause of abiding, close to pacification. Because the cause has ceased, the taking of a body in the future, as well as making it complete, and the arising of the continuum, will not occur. Thus, it is abiding close to pacification. The consciousness that belongs to its antidote, namely the extremely pure consciousness, is called non-abiding. It also does not manifestly increase from a cause. Because of fully cultivating the door of liberation, emptiness, it is unconditioned by manifestation. Because of fully cultivating the door of liberation, wishlessness, it is contentment. Because of fully cultivating the door of liberation, signlessness, it is abiding. Thus, from non-manifest increase to abiding, it is extremely liberated. Even in the causal state, one does not grasp even a little bit of self and what belongs to self. Therefore, even if it transforms into form, etc., it will not be completely disgusted. By those signs, it appears as the nature of extreme purity. That consciousness, because of being extremely pure, will cease by its own nature without relying on other causes. Because the continuum of that consciousness is severed, there is also no entering into the ten directions. The absence of manifest joy in living and dying is called shadowless. Or else, feelings are like the shadow of consciousness, which is like a tree. Those do not arise at that time, therefore it is also called shadowless. Whatever has defilements is nirvana in this life. Defilements.
