One will not obtain the unique wisdom, will completely lose good reputation, will completely lose the trust of others, will completely lose accumulated merits, will lose listening to Dharma from the noble ones, will completely lose the key instructions, will commit many sins, will make one's own mind-stream distant from virtue, due to the harm of deceitful inequality, the mind will be painful and restless, doubts about the suffering of others will arise, one will not become a vessel for noble Dharma, one will die in regret, and after the body is destroyed, one will fall into evil destinies and evil paths, and will be born in the hells of consciousness. Deceit has eight aspects, and it should be recognized as having seven bases, which is to act in desire. What are the eight aspects? They are doing deceit to confuse, concealing, proclaiming, establishing, respecting, resenting, abandoning, and doing deceit when showing compassion. What are the seven bases? They are the basis of speech, the basis of urging, the basis of dispute, the basis of showing friendship, the basis of showing affection, the basis of no deceit in action, and the basis of harm. Among them, relying on the first basis, when a deceitful person engages in conversation with worldly people, they present meaningless things as meaningful, and meaningful things as meaningless, just as meaningless things are presented as meaningful, and meaningful things are presented as meaningless, they present meaningless things as existing, and existing things as non-existent, thereby confusing people. Among them, relying on the second basis, a deceitful person initiates from all aspects with deceitful behavior, and when others urge them to commit evil deeds, they will conceal the true faults and proclaim untrue merits. Among them, relying on the third basis, when a deceitful person debates with external debaters, starting from a comprehensive examination of merits and faults, they will also establish unfavorable aspects. Among them, relying on the fourth basis, a deceitful person will treat those who are very powerful and fierce, and who truly see fear, with extreme humility in body and speech.

Now, flattery also shows itself as friendliness. Regarding the fifth basis, the cunning one slightly bends, gaining benefit from anything with a deceptive, wavering nature, and when truly seeing the gain, they do not trust nor believe. For example, to show that the cause of effort and the state in which one is situated are completely pure, they will act with great trust and great belief. Regarding the sixth basis, the cunning one promises to help those who are regarded as close friends and trusted to do great things in the future, but when things happen, they will cleverly show various deceptions to abandon them in order to protect their own ease. Regarding the seventh basis, when the cunning one encounters any harm, to the enemy who caused the harm, they will, in order to cause sadness, laziness, and confusion, even if they are not so weak and suffering, try their best to appear weak and suffering. The Hearer's displeasure is because, starting temporarily from the truths, even if it is not appropriate to receive teachings and subsequent instructions, how could there be an opportunity to realize the truths and be completely purified? The nine signs of a Hearer's displeasure are: a Hearer with these signs should be understood as impatient and displeased. Which nine? When the speaker speaks, due to unfriendly words, answering from the context, or irrelevant, or incomplete, or answering after completely thinking in another way, this is the first sign. Due to absent-minded speech, abandoning what others are saying. Abandoning what is being said, this is the second sign. Being completely entangled by anger, disturbing one's own mind, provoking, making it chaotic, this is the third sign. Due to the complete entanglement of anger, speaking discordant words, slanderous words, and rude words.

Doing so is the fourth sign. If he says 'me,' then I think, 'Why should I say this?' Because the mind is full of pride, and he speaks, this is the fifth sign. Hiding faults is the sixth sign. Holding a grudge is the seventh sign. Increasing the thought of retaliation is the eighth sign. When others tell of the speaker's true merits and truthfully explain them, they do not rejoice but instead refute, abandon, and scold, this is the ninth sign. In short, the speaker can be summarized into two types: one who is like a lama and is famous, and another who is like a lama but is not famous. For these two types of people, the first two signs should be observed starting from the first speaker. The remaining seven signs should be observed starting from the second speaker. On the ground, starting from the vow of discipline, the vow of definitive determination with discipline is: the collection together with discipline, mindfulness, concealment, and teaching, examination, reliance, and acceptance, enjoyment, and profundity, faith, and the objects of simile. Among these, the Pratimoksha associated with discipline is summarized by seven places. What are the seven places? They are: the Buddha's command and permission, prohibition, the basis of downfall, downfall, no downfall, and recovery from downfall. Among these, the command is the command given by the Bhagavan for the discipline of whatever causes non-virtuous dharmas to completely decline and virtuous dharmas to manifestly increase. This is a brief definition of the command, but if it is widely differentiated, it is immeasurable. Among these, permission is what the Bhagavan has permitted as a cause for closeness and can be universally practiced without afflictions. Among these, prohibition is the discipline prohibition made by the Bhagavan for what is inherently faulty, faultless, and discordant. Among these, the basis of downfall, in brief, has eighteen aspects, namely, non-virtue.
