Complete and, with faults and, without faults and, to be completely abandoned and, not to be completely abandoned are also the same. Regarding what the Blessed One said, "Here, a noble disciple knows that what exists exists, and that what does not exist does not exist," what is existence here, and what is non-existence? In short, existence should be understood as existence in two ways. What are the two? That which is born, has arisen, and exists now should be understood as existence. And that which is completely established from matter, things, and meaning should also be understood as existence. In short, what should be understood as substantial existence? What should be understood as nominal existence? Whatever it may be, that which does not depend on others and does not rely on others to establish its own nature should be understood as substantial existence in short. Whatever it may be, that which depends on others and relies on others to establish its own nature should be understood as nominal existence in short, but not substantial existence. For example, relying and depending on the objects named aggregates such as form, from the place, it is widely applied as self or sentient being. Among them, the objects named aggregates such as form are substantial existence. Sentient beings, life, and beings are not substantial existence, and are called nominal existence. Just as self and so on are applied from the objects named aggregates such as form, aggregates and so on are applied only from the objects named form and so on, and food and drink are applied from form, smell, taste, and touch, vehicles and clothes, decorations and houses, armies and forests, and so on, and birth and aging are applied from the objects named conditioned phenomena, abiding and impermanence, seeds and manifestation, non-manifestation, attainment and non-attainment, life force and homogeneity, collections of names and collections of sentences, and collections of letters and their respective

Self-nature, as well as, aggregation and non-aggregation, as well as, entering and individual determination, as well as, combination, as well as, swiftness, as well as, order, as well as, time and place and number, close attachment, as well as, merely abiding in the formless abode, depending and relying, closely attaching to space, and designating space as uncreated. After that, merely abiding in the designation of name, depending and relying, closely attaching to and designating the samadhi of non-perception, as well as the samadhi of cessation, is also the same as that. Starting from the reason established by logic, how does one understand that the self is not substantial? What is this reasoning? Thus, it is because it is not perceived and does not appear. How is it not perceived? Apart from the aggregates, it is not perceived whether it is internal, external, or both. How does it not appear? Just as the sense bases such as the eye, which are substantial, appear in their respective functions, so the self does not appear in its own function. Thus, one should understand that the self is only non-substantial because it is not perceived from its own characteristics and because it does not appear in its own function. If the self is not perceived and does not appear in this way, why do other non-Buddhist wanderers perceive and see it, and thus desire to show and designate it as substantial? Answer: Although it is not perceived and not seen, it is only because they rely on the view of the perishable collection and the pride of "I" to wrongly discriminate, and also wrongly conceive, and desire to show and prevent it improperly. Among them, how should one understand that it is perceived and does not appear because of the absence of self and because it is only non-existent? If there is a self, then no matter how far away it goes, it will be distinguished by four aspects: either only the aggregates, or other than the aggregates and abiding in the aggregates, or not only the aggregates but other than the aggregates, and also not abiding in the aggregates, but other than the aggregates, abiding in the dharmas that are different from the aggregates, or not only the aggregates but other than the aggregates, and also not abiding in the aggregates.
