Furthermore, sleep can be briefly summarized into two types: that which can be truly destroyed and that which cannot be truly destroyed. Birth can also be briefly summarized into two types: birth without leisure and birth with leisure. Habitual tendencies can also be briefly summarized into two types: habitual tendencies that arise immediately and habitual tendencies that arose previously. Accumulations can be understood as three types: accumulations that are definitely wrong, accumulations that are definitely right, and accumulations that are uncertain. Among these, accumulations that are definitely wrong are also of two types: those that are inherently definitely wrong and those that are definitely wrong through fabrication. Accumulations that are definitely right are also of two types: those that are inherently definitely right and those that are definitely right through fabrication. Those that are uncertain are also of two types: those that are inherently uncertain and those that are uncertain through fabrication. Through the thirteen modes of manifestation and so forth, these thirteen types of individuals should be extensively understood according to their respective circumstances. All those who manifest and create virtue are not associated with manifesting and creating non-virtue. Are all those who are not associated with manifesting and creating non-virtue also manifesting and creating virtue? There are four possibilities: there are those who manifest and create virtue, but are not associated with manifesting and creating non-virtue, such as the virtue of manifesting and creating karma that is both white and black, resulting in a mixed white and black maturation. There are those who are not associated with manifesting and creating non-virtue, but are not virtuous, such as manifesting and creating that which is unspecified. There are those who are neither associated with manifesting and creating non-virtue, nor are they virtuous, such as manifesting and creating white karma that results in white maturation, and the karma of manifesting and creating no karma that results in non-white maturation, for the purpose of exhausting karma. There are those who are not separate from manifesting and creating non-virtue, but are not virtuous, such as manifesting and creating black karma that results in black maturation. Similarly, manifesting and creating non-virtue and manifesting and creating the unspecified should also be examined accordingly. Whoever possesses the obscuration of karma also possesses the obscuration of habitual tendencies.

Furthermore, does one who possesses the obscuration of habit also possess the obscuration of karma? There are four possibilities: There are those who possess the obscuration of karma but do not possess the obscuration of habit. For example, in this life, some have committed and accumulated the karma of the five heinous crimes, but in their previous lives, they did not commit or accumulate any sinful, unwholesome karma that would obstruct the path of the noble ones in this life. There are also those who possess the obscuration of habit but do not possess the obscuration of karma, which is the opposite of the former. There are also those who possess both, meaning that in this life they have committed and accumulated the karma of the five heinous crimes, and in their previous lives they also committed and accumulated sinful, unwholesome karma that would obstruct the path of the noble ones in this life. There are also those who possess neither, which is the opposite of the former. So, what is the undifferentiated truth? It is the suchness of all phenomena, the perfectly established nature, the realm of activity of the wisdom of the noble ones, and the object of the wisdom of the noble ones. So, what is the extreme of superimposition? It is said that the nature of all phenomena, in brief, is threefold: the nature of complete imputation, the nature of dependence on others, and the nature of perfect consummation. Among these, the nature of complete imputation is anything that arises from terminology, because it is established through complete imputation and names and concepts. Among these, the nature of dependence on others is anything that arises in dependence, because it is a thing that arises from the power of others, and not a thing that arises from its own power. Among these, the nature of perfect consummation is the same as the former. Therefore, clinging to the nature of dependence on others and the nature of perfect consummation as the nature of complete imputation should be understood as the extreme of superimposition. Why is that? Because their nature cannot be their own self. How can it not be its own self? It is like how it is extensively explained and shown in the bodhisattva grounds and their ascertainment. Again, in brief, it cannot be established by three reasons: name, expression, and various
