It should be observed. Among them, the mind with afflictions is overcome by attachment and clinging, overcome by hatred and anger, and overcome by ignorance and delusion. If there is a mind with afflictions, but it is not fully acted upon by its intention, even if it is completely done, it is not the completion of the karma belonging to the path of karma. If there is a mind with afflictions, and there is also its intention, but with a reversed mind it is fully practiced on another object, even if it is ultimately completed, then the karma is not complete. If there is a mind with afflictions, and there is also its intention, but it is not fully practiced and not ultimately completed, then the karma is also not complete. If there is a mind with afflictions, and there is also its intention, and it is fully practiced on itself, but it is not ultimately completed, then the karma is also not complete. If there is a mind with afflictions, and there is also its intention, and it is fully practiced on itself, and it is also ultimately completed, then the karma belonging to the path of unwholesome karma is complete, and by showing its own characteristics in this way, one should understand the nature of all unwholesome paths of karma. The extensive differentiation of the nature of the ten paths of karma should be examined by establishing them in five ways. What are the five ways? They are: the basis, the perception, the intention, the affliction, and the conclusion. Among them, the basis should be observed separately for each path of karma. Depending on this, the ten paths of unwholesome karma arise accordingly from the basis of whether it is counted as a sentient being or not. Perception should be observed in four ways: perceiving it as it is, perceiving it as what it is not, perceiving what it is as what it is not, and perceiving what it is not as what it is not. What is called intention is the desire to create a reversed perception or a non-reversed perception. What is called affliction is this: namely, attachment, hatred, or ignorance, or attachment and hatred, or attachment.

and ignorance, or hatred and ignorance, or attachment and hatred and all ignorance. In this regard, the ultimate is like this: the manifest desire for the action itself, with the action related to it, is completely accomplished at that time or after that time. Thus, for these five aspects, from killing to the ultimate of wrong view, the nature of all ten paths of action should be known as widely and completely as possible. The basis of killing is a sentient being with life. If the killer also has the perception that the being is a sentient being, and also recognizes the sentient being that he wants to kill as that being, then it is called that his perception of that being is not inverted. Relying on that perception, the mind thinks, "This should be killed," that is his intention to kill. In this regard, is it overcome by attachment, or overcome by hatred, or overcome by ignorance? Is it overcome by two of these? Is it overcome by all of them? In this way, the mind manifests and acts, that is his affliction. With that intention and such an afflicted mind, he himself or others perform the act of killing, and strikes with a weapon. If he dies from that action immediately after striking, then it should be known that at that time the path of action is completely fulfilled and ultimate. If he does not die at that time, but dies at another time due to that action, then it should also be known that whenever he dies, it is ultimate at that time. Thus, there is no scripture that shows each path of action with these five aspects. The basis of taking what is not given (stealing) is what is possessed by others. Perception is recognizing it as such. Intention is the desire to steal. Affliction is any of the three. The ultimate is moving to another place. The basis of sexual misconduct is a woman with whom one should not engage in sexual activity, and even if one should engage in sexual activity, it is engaging in non-limbs, non-places, non-times, non-measurement, and inappropriate conduct, and reproduction.
