The afflictions that do not abide in a place arise, the afflictions that abide in a place arise, the afflictions that can be cultivated arise, and the afflictions that cannot be cultivated arise. What are the twenty kinds of causes for arising? It is said: the cause of happiness, the cause of suffering, the cause of neither suffering nor happiness, the cause of desire, the cause of discrimination, the cause of contact, the cause of latent tendencies, the cause of prior habituation, the cause of associating with non-holy beings, the cause of hearing the Dharma of non-holy beings, the cause of improper attention, the cause of disbelief, the cause of laziness, the cause of forgetfulness, the cause of distraction, the cause of corrupt wisdom, the cause of negligence, the cause of afflictions, the cause of not being separated from desire, and the cause of being an ordinary person. Due to these causes, afflictions arise. In which realms and in which realms, which body and which body are connected? Should it be said that the connection is made by all the afflictions of all the realms, or by incomplete afflictions? It is said: by all, not by incomplete ones. Why is that? Because one who is not separated from desire will be born in his own place of birth, but one who is separated from desire will not. The body that is not separated from desire, in another place, as the cause of another body arising, is connected with all the bad destinies that are in accordance with the aspect of afflictions. Therefore, it should be known that the connection is made by all afflictions. Furthermore, at birth, craving for the body also arises universally, and desire and anger towards men and women also arise universally. Doubt also arises universally, wondering whether one will associate with these men and women or not. Because clinging to self inwardly and outwardly, clinging to beings, and pride such as "I am" also arise universally. Therefore, it should also be known that the connection is made by all afflictions. Furthermore

As for my entering the womb, in short, there are seven types. Entering the womb through pervasive affliction and latent tendencies is like this: it is for each ordinary being. Entering the womb through latent tendencies is like this: it is for those who have seen the ground. Entering the womb with mindfulness is like this: it is for the wheel-turning kings. Entering the womb with mindfulness and abiding is like this: it is for the solitary Buddhas. Entering the womb without any expression at all is like this: it is for the Bodhisattvas. Entering the womb through the manifestation of karma is like this: it is for all except the Bodhisattvas' entering the womb. Entering the womb through the manifestation of wisdom is like this: it is for the Bodhisattvas. Entering the womb with harm is like this: it is the same as entering the womb through the manifestation of karma. Entering the womb with meaning is like this: it is the same as entering the womb through the manifestation of wisdom. If those are summarized, entering the womb becomes seven or nine types. For all those bases, there is no text that explains in four aspects by determining the way of connecting the upper sentence and the way of connecting the lower sentence. Summary: Karma and nature, as well as the base, happiness and non-virtue, etc., abandonment and object, and arising, entering the womb is the last. Fourteenth chapter. The detailed classification of the all-afflictive aspects of karma is established in five ways: the karma of the body, the karma of speech, and the karma of mind, which are included in the substance of the path of karma, as well as the karma included in the connections of those themselves, and the karma included in the result. Among them, the non-virtuous paths of karma as explained above are called the non-virtuous karma of the body, the karma of speech, and the karma of mind, which are included in the substance of the path of karma. What is the establishment of the self-nature of those non-virtuous paths of karma such as killing? It is that with an afflicted mind and its intention, that action is completely practiced and fully accomplished, which is a summary of the self-nature of all those paths of karma such as killing.
