Like this, this (speaker) is of low caste, therefore I should not listen to the Dharma from this person, one should not generate such thoughts. Do not focus on the bad appearance, like this, because this person has a bad appearance, I should not listen to the Dharma from this person, one should not generate such thoughts. Also, do not focus on bad wording, like this, because these words are not well organized, I should not listen to the Dharma from this person, one should not generate such thoughts, one should rely on the meaning, not rely on the words. Also, do not focus on unpleasant sounds, like this, because this person speaks harshly and angrily, and is not a pleasant Dharma speaker, I should not listen to the Dharma from this person, one should not generate such thoughts. For these five aspects, do not focus on them, the Bodhisattva should respectfully and completely accept the sacred Dharma, because the Dharma will never become flawed due to the faults of a person. Therefore, a foolish Bodhisattva, if he is disgusted with the faults of people and does not want to listen to the Dharma, know that this will only harm himself and will lead to the complete decline of wisdom. How does a Bodhisattva cultivate the four immeasurables? Namely, loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity. In short, the Bodhisattva cultivates these four immeasurables in three ways: focusing on sentient beings, focusing on the Dharma, and without focus. The Bodhisattva places all sentient beings in three states: having happiness, having suffering, and neither suffering nor happiness. Then, for those sentient beings who desire happiness, with the special intention of achieving happiness, spreading loving-kindness in all ten directions, abiding with devotion to sentient beings, know that this is his loving-kindness focused on sentient beings. Having the awareness of merely the Dharma, seeing from the depths of the heart that merely regarding the Dharma as sentient beings, practicing the same loving-kindness, know that this is his loving-kindness focused on the Dharma. Not discriminating the Dharma, and without anything, practicing the same loving-kindness
