That is, there is nothing higher than this, and nothing more excellent than this. So, what is the difficult meditation of the Bodhisattvas? That should be viewed from three aspects: Bodhisattvas abide in meditation, abiding by manifesting vast, various, and extremely mixed states, freely abandoning that supreme bliss of meditation, and after separately examining, with compassion, doing many things for the benefit of sentient beings, and truly seeing the complete maturation of sentient beings, whatever causes them to be born in the desire realm, this should be known as the first difficult meditation of the Bodhisattvas. Furthermore, Bodhisattvas rely on meditation, manifesting the meditation of Bodhisattvas, which is immeasurable, countless, inconceivable, and completely transcends all the realms of Hearers and Solitary Buddhas, this should be known as the second difficult meditation of the Bodhisattvas. Furthermore, Bodhisattvas rely on meditation, whatever enables the complete attainment of unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, this should be known as the third difficult meditation of the Bodhisattvas. So, from all aspects, what is meditation? It should be viewed from four aspects: with investigation and analysis, accompanied by joy, accompanied by satisfying bliss, and accompanied by equanimity. So, what is the meditation of the noble being of a Bodhisattva? That should be viewed from five aspects: without tasting (pleasure), accompanied by loving-kindness, accompanied by compassion, accompanied by joy, and accompanied by equanimity. So, what is the meditation of all aspects of a Bodhisattva? That is six kinds and seven kinds, and combined, it should be known that there are thirteen kinds: the meditation of virtue, the unpredicted meditation for the sake of manifestation, the aspect of quiescence, the aspect of insight, the meditation of thinking well about determining the benefit of oneself and others, the meditation of manifesting the power and qualities of superknowledge, focusing on names, focusing on meanings, focusing on the signs of quiescence.

And, focusing on the characteristic of attachment, focusing on the characteristic of equanimity, dwelling happily in this life, the meditation of benefiting others. These thirteen kinds of meditation of the Bodhisattvas are called the meditation of all aspects. Among them, what is the meditation of poverty and desire of the Bodhisattva? That should be observed in eight aspects: the meditation of blessing the secret mantras that pacify the harm of poison, hail, severe epidemics, spirits, demons, etc.; the meditation of pacifying various diseases caused by the disturbance of the elements; the meditation of praying for rain when there is a great cry of famine; the meditation of well protecting from various fears of water and land caused by humans and non-humans; similarly, the meditation of preparing food and drink for those who live in remote monasteries and lack food and drink; the meditation of preparing resources for the poor who have no possessions; the meditation of well exhorting the unrestrained beings in the ten directions; and the meditation of well doing all the deeds of sentient beings. Among them, what is the meditation of the Bodhisattva that brings happiness in this life and the next? That should be observed in nine aspects: the meditation of taming sentient beings with the miracle of magical power; the meditation of taming sentient beings with the miracle of demonstration and the miracle of subsequent teaching; the meditation of showing the evil realms to those who do evil; the meditation of adding courage to those who have lost courage; the meditation of adding memory to forgetful beings; the meditation of establishing non-inverted treatises, poems, and combining mother tantras for the sake of the long duration of the holy Dharma; and the places of craftsmanship and work of worldly people, which have the meaning of benefiting sentient beings, such as writing, arithmetic, storytelling, numbers, manual calculation, etc., as well as beds, small beds, umbrellas, shoes, etc.

and the meditation that causes various kinds of vessels to arise, and the meditation of emitting rays of light in order to eliminate the suffering of the evil destinies of those born in the evil destinies. What, then, is the pure meditation of a Bodhisattva? It is to be understood in ten aspects: meditation that is pure by worldly purity, without tasting flavor; meditation that is pure by transcendental purity, not of the nature of affliction; purity by application; purity by the main object; meditation that is pure by the superior purity that is especially above the main object; meditation that is pure by being empowered in entering, abiding, and rising; meditation that is pure by being empowered to enter into equipoise even when meditation is reversed; meditation that is pure by being empowered to transform by means of clairvoyance; meditation that is pure by being separated from all that has become a view; meditation that is pure by abandoning the obscurations of affliction and knowledge. These immeasurable meditations of the Bodhisattvas are the fruit of great enlightenment, and relying on them, the Bodhisattvas completely perfect the perfection of meditation, and thereby manifestly awaken to unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, and become Buddhas. They will manifestly awaken to Buddhahood. They will manifestly awaken to Buddhahood. The thirteenth chapter, the chapter on meditation, from the place of yoga of the ground of the Bodhisattva. The twelfth volume. The summary should be understood as before. What, then, is the nature of the wisdom of a Bodhisattva? Entering into all that is to be known, engaging in all that is to be known, and whatever thoroughly distinguishes phenomena, and focusing on the five sciences, the science of inner meaning, the science of reasoning, the science of healing, the science of language, and the science of crafts and occupations, this should be understood as the nature of the wisdom of the Bodhisattvas. What, then, is all the wisdom of the Bodhisattvas? That is
