Even if promised, if one does not go and does not accept when called, it becomes a fault and a violation, and it becomes a fault of affliction. If one does not go due to laziness and sloth, it becomes a non-afflictive fault. If one is sick and unable to go, or if one's mind is disturbed, there is no fault. If the place of the task becomes distant, or if there is danger on the road, there is no fault. If one wants to tame him with that method, and wants to tame him, awakening him from the state of non-virtue, and wants to place him in the state of virtue, there is no fault. If one has promised others in a previous life, there is no fault. If one does not go in order to protect what constantly becomes an obstacle to the side of virtue, there is no fault. If one does not go because one fears that listening to the meaning of the Dharma, which one has not heard before, will lead to deterioration, there is no fault. It should also be understood in the same way regarding how to properly engage in related discussions after listening to the meaning of the Dharma. If one is called with a hostile intention, there is no fault. If one protects the minds of many others from universal suffering, there is no fault. If one protects the monastic discipline of the Sangha, there is no fault. If other Bodhisattvas obtain various kinds of numerous excellent riches such as gold, silver, jewels, pearls, and lapis lazuli, and due to inappropriate timing, they have a mind of universal suffering, or they have a mind of anger, and they cannot accept and abandon them, it becomes a fault and a violation, and because they abandon sentient beings, it becomes a fault of affliction. If one does not accept due to laziness and sloth, it becomes a fault and a violation, but it does not become a fault of affliction. There is no fault in being mentally disturbed. If one sees that accepting those things will lead to attachment, there is no fault. If one fears that one will regret it later, there is no fault. If one fears that it will disrupt the giving, there is no fault. If one abandons universal clinging, fearing that it will lead to the benefactor becoming poor and destitute, there is no fault. If one suspects that it belongs to the Sangha or the stupa, there is no fault. If one suspects that it was unreasonably seized from others, and because of that reason, they were killed, bound, or punished.

If (it is cut off) by force, or causes harm, or causes awakening, there is no fault. If a Bodhisattva, towards others who desire the Dharma, always has a mind of annoyance, or has a mind of anger, or is naturally jealous, if he does not give Dharma, there will be fault and violation, and it will become a fault of affliction. If one does not give due to laziness and sloth, there will be fault and violation, but it will not become a fault of affliction. If one does not give to those heretics who seek opportunities, there is also no fault. If one has a serious illness, and is mentally disturbed, there is no fault. If one wants to subdue with that method, and wants to subdue, to dissuade from the place of non-virtue, and wants to place in the place of virtue, there is no fault. If one does not understand the Dharma, there is no fault. If one does not give to those who are disrespectful and impolite, and demand with bad behavior, there is no fault. If one's faculties are dull, and one teaches the vast Dharma, if one is afraid of hearing the Dharma, and has wrong views, and manifest attachment to wrong views, and fears harm and decline, there is no fault. If it falls into his hands, and one fears that the Dharma will increase to others who are not vessels, there is no fault. If a Bodhisattva, towards fierce beings and those who have broken their vows, because they are fierce and because they have broken their vows, always has a mind of annoyance, or abandons or despises with a mind of anger, there will be fault and violation, and it will become a fault of affliction. If one abandons due to laziness and sloth, and despises with words, there will be fault and violation, but it will not become a fault of affliction. Why is that? Bodhisattvas, towards fierce beings, and those who have broken their vows, and those who abide in the cause of suffering, how do they want to generate a mind of compassion and be close, just like those who have discipline, and whose actions of body, speech, and mind are peaceful, because it is not like that. For mental disturbance, there is no fault. Wanting to subdue him with that method, as before, there is no fault.
