Even if a Bodhisattva forgets after rebirth, they rely on relying on a virtuous spiritual friend. They only repeatedly receive vows to restore their memory, and it is not a completely new reception. Thus, the faults or non-faults of a Bodhisattva abiding in the precepts, as well as afflictions and non-afflictions, small, medium, and large, should also be understood. Thus, a Bodhisattva abiding in the precepts of a Bodhisattva, every single day, should make offerings to the Tathagata, or the stupa of the Tathagata, or the Dharma, or a Dharma text, or the Bodhisattva's Sutra Pitaka, or the mother text of the Bodhisattva's Sutra Pitaka, or the Sangha, whichever of the Sangha of Bodhisattvas included in the ten directions of the great earth. Whatever the act of offering, whether small or large, even if it is just one prostration with the body, even if it is just reciting one verse of four lines based on the qualities of the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, even if it is just one initial recollection of the qualities of the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha in the mind, if they let the day and night pass without doing even that, then it becomes an offense and a transgression. If a fault arises from disrespect, negligence, or laziness, then it becomes a fault of affliction. If a fault arises from forgetfulness, then it becomes a non-afflictive fault. There is no fault in mental confusion. There is no fault in being in a place of pure intention. Thus, a Bodhisattva is for the sake of pure intention. For example, when a Bhikshu knows and gains faith, he always teaches by the nature of Dharma, and he serves and honors the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, and makes offerings with excellent offerings. If a Bodhisattva arises and accepts great desire, dissatisfaction, and attachment to gain and respect, then it becomes an offense and a transgression, and it becomes a fault of affliction. In order to abandon it, aspiration arises and diligence is exerted, as well as its antidote.

Because the virtuous friend completely holds, abides in his instructions, and is naturally heavy with afflictions, there is no fault in being suppressed and repeatedly practicing. When a Bodhisattva is very old and possesses qualities, and sees a Dharma-abiding person worthy of respect, if he is suppressed by pride, or possesses a mind of pervasive torment, or possesses a mind of anger, it is acceptable, but if he rises and does not offer a seat, speaks to others and speaks everywhere, truly delights and asks questions, and is only suppressed by pride, or possesses a mind of pervasive torment, or possesses a mind of anger, and does not repeat the words in a reasoned manner, then it becomes faulty and contradictory, becoming a fault of affliction. If he is not suppressed by pride, does not possess a mind of pervasive torment, and does not possess a mind of anger, but is negligent, or lazy, or has a mind of non-indication, or forgets, then it only becomes faulty and contradictory, and will not become a fault of affliction. There is no fault in being severely feverish from illness, or in being mentally disturbed. There is no fault in grasping with the cognition of awakening from sleep, and in speaking, speaking everywhere, truly delighting, and asking questions. There is no fault in striving to teach the Dharma to others, or in determining related words. If it is not so, there is no fault in truly delighting in others. There is no fault in listening attentively when others teach the Dharma, or determine related words. There is no fault in disliking Dharma words and protecting the mind of the Dharma speaker. There is no fault in taming and disciplining those beings by that method, arousing them from the state of non-virtue, and placing them in the state of virtue. There is no fault in guarding the internal discipline of the Sangha. There is no fault in guarding the minds of many others. If other Bodhisattvas call for food and drink, clothing, and other utensils in a house, or another monastery, or another home, if they are suppressed by pride, or possess a mind of pervasive torment, or possess a mind of anger,
