Seeing with wisdom, if one does not savor, what need to mention all beings' inferior view of my gains and respect? One delights in being utterly solitary, and even when dwelling within the assembly of the Sangha, one's mind constantly abides in solitude. One does not consider it sufficient to merely maintain the discipline of morality, but relying on and abiding in morality, one strives to manifestly accomplish those immeasurable samadhis of the Bodhisattva, and to gain mastery. Even when dwelling in the midst of bustle, one does not accept even a little of evil talk and evil words, and even when dwelling in utter solitude, one does not think even a little of evil thoughts. Because of forgetfulness, for the sake of engaging in those practices, one generates intense regret and views them as faults from time to time. Relying on constantly and unceasingly regretting and viewing faults, as soon as evil talk and evil thoughts arise, mindfulness quickly abides, and one also obtains the mind of non-action, therefore one will abandon them. If one becomes accustomed to abandoning, then gradually, just as one was formerly delighted in engaging in those practices, so too one delights in not engaging in those practices, and one also abides in opposition to engaging in them. Thus, the Bodhisattva's training of those who have entered the great grounds is vast, immeasurable, and inconceivable. Even upon hearing of all the present, distant, and supreme joys, the mind does not become frightened, timid, or afraid. One thinks, "Those too are humans, and by gradually training their speech in the Bodhisattva's training, they have merely become endowed with immeasurable and inconceivable physical and verbal disciplines. I too am a human, and if I train gradually, I will undoubtedly obtain those perfect physical and verbal disciplines." A Bodhisattva abiding in the discipline of morality reflects on his own faults and errors, but does not reflect on the faults and errors of others. Righteously relying on great compassion, one does not generate any mind of torment or

Without a mind of anger, for them, Bodhisattvas mostly possess a mind of loving-kindness and a mind of wanting to act. A Bodhisattva abiding in the precepts of vows, even if struck by hands, fists, sticks, and weapons, does not hate others in his heart. How much less to utter evil words or retaliate? Not to mention the small harms that cause suffering from insults, anger, or the eight imprisonments. A Bodhisattva abiding in the precepts of vows possesses carefulness gathered by five branches, namely, possessing the previous limit, possessing the later limit, possessing the middle limit, things to be done beforehand, and accompanying practice. A Bodhisattva learning the trainings of a Bodhisattva is that whatever faults have occurred based on the past time, he corrects them according to the Dharma, that is the carefulness of possessing the previous limit. Whatever faults will occur based on the future time, he will also correct them according to the Dharma, that is the carefulness of possessing the later limit. Based on the time that has occurred in the present, whatever faults have occurred, he also corrects them according to the Dharma, that is the carefulness of possessing the middle limit. For faults that have not occurred, from the beginning, the Bodhisattva strictly restrains himself, thinking: How should I act, how should I abide, so that faults will not occur? Is it not good to act like that, to abide like that? That is the carefulness of the Bodhisattva's things to be done beforehand. Relying on that carefulness of things to be done beforehand, acting like that, abiding like that, so that faults will not occur, acting like that, abiding like that, that is the carefulness of accompanying practice. A Bodhisattva abiding in the precepts of vows does not boast of good deeds, distinguishes evil deeds, has few desires and is content, does not take suffering to heart, has a nature of complete freedom from worry, is without excitement, is not frivolous, his conduct is very peaceful,

Abandoning all dharmas that sustain life through flattery and other wrong livelihoods. A Bodhisattva who possesses these ten branches abides in the discipline of moral conduct, namely: not looking back at past desires, not rejoicing in future desires, not being overly attached to what is happening now, rejoicing in dwelling in extreme solitude, making speech and realization completely pure, not despising oneself, being subdued, patient, cautious, observing rituals, and being well-advised for the sake of pure living, is one who possesses moral discipline. Furthermore, a Bodhisattva who abides in the discipline of accumulating virtuous dharmas does not accept even the slightest attachment that arises towards the body and possessions, let alone a great deal. All afflictions and near afflictions that become the basis of breaking vows, such as anger and resentment, that arise are not accepted. Towards others, all arising thoughts of torment, anger, and hatred are not accepted. Laziness and sloth that arise are not accepted. Experiencing the taste of meditative absorption and the afflictions of meditative absorption that arise are not accepted. Knowing the five places of perfection as they are, and knowing the benefits of virtuous results as they are. Also knowing the causes of virtue, the results of the causes of virtue, and what obstructs the accumulation of virtue, as they truly are. The Bodhisattva, seeing the benefits in virtuous results, completely seeks the causes of virtue in order to accumulate virtue. The Bodhisattva, knowing what is inverted and not inverted as they truly are, after obtaining virtuous results, will not regard impermanence as permanence, will not regard suffering as happiness, will not regard impurity as purity, and will not regard selflessness as self. Also knowing what obstructs the accumulation of virtue, one completely abandons it. By these twelve aspects, one who abides in the discipline of accumulating virtue quickly practices virtue.
