Entering, the power of the Bodhisattva and the Tathagata's former state is like this. With the wisdom of remembering the past states, in order to generate faith, respect, and aversion in sentient beings towards the Buddhas, the World Honored Ones, the Bodhisattva shows various incarnations of the most rare practices of past conduct. And from the perspective of the ripening of the karmic fruits of sentient beings, it also shows such situations with the principle of the past. For example, for those who cling to the eternity of the past, and some sentient beings who cling to permanence, their view of permanence is also eliminated. What is the divine ear wisdom of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas? That is, the Tathagata or Bodhisattva hears the voices of gods and humans with the divine ear, as well as the voices of noble ones and non-noble ones, and also loud voices and small voices, clear voices and unclear voices, manifested voices and non-manifested voices, distant voices and nearby voices. Among them, the voices of the gods, if not allowed to enter upwards, are the voices of sentient beings born above up to the Akanistha heaven. If entry is allowed, then upwards one can also hear the sounds of other world realms beyond that. Among them, the voices of humans can directly hear the voices of all sentient beings in the four continents. Among them, the voices of the noble ones are the voices of the Buddhas, the Buddha's Shravakas, the Bodhisattvas, and the Pratyekabuddhas, and other sentient beings hear these voices and then proclaim them accordingly, for example, starting from correctly taking up virtuous deeds and abandoning evil deeds, correctly showing, guiding to uphold, praising, and causing joy, etc.

Subsequently, it is also the teacher. Furthermore, well-spoken words, well-uttered phrases, and anything else that accords with meaning are called the noble sounds. Non-noble sounds are the false speech of sentient beings, divisive speech, harsh speech, idle chatter, and the sounds of those born in the lower realms, those born in the upper realms of the gods, and those born directly in the human realm. Among these, great sounds are the sounds of large gatherings of sentient beings, or the sounds of those who are afflicted by various harms, crying out in distress and making noise, or the sounds of thunder, conch shells, large drums, and cymbals. Small sounds include even the sound of whispering in the ear. Clear sounds are those by which meaning is understood. Unclear sounds are those by which meaning is not understood, such as the secret mantras of those who walk and fly, or the sounds of wind, forests, parrots, cuckoos, nightingales, and so on. Moreover, emanated sounds are those that are manifested through miraculous power by those who possess miraculous abilities and have attained mastery over their minds. Distant sounds are those that arise from countless, immeasurable world realms other than the sounds that occur in places such as towns or temples where the Tathagata or Bodhisattvas reside. What is the knowledge of the death and rebirth of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas? It is that the Tathagata or Bodhisattva, with pure divine eyes that transcend human abilities, observes sentient beings at the time of death and after death, seeing those with beautiful and ugly complexions, the bad and the good, the causes of birth and aging at the end of future lives, the faculties fully matured, the various actions of the body, virtuous and non-virtuous, and those that are not declared, and likewise sees and knows the appearances. Also sees and knows the minute parts. Also sees any emanated forms and the pure forms of the gods. As for...

Beginning with the observation of forms in the realms of the lower and upper worlds, if not entering, they observe down to the Avīci hell and up to the Akanistha heaven. If they observe specifically, then beyond these, in the immeasurable and countless realms below, above, and directly, they also observe all things that have form. Especially in those Buddha-fields, they also observe the Tathāgatas teaching the Dharma and abiding in the midst of great mandalas of various retinues. Therefore, the Tathāgata or Bodhisattva, with their divine eye, observes the virtuous and non-virtuous actions of beings in the ten directions and diligently helps them according to what is appropriate. With their divine ear, they listen to their virtuous and non-virtuous speech and diligently help those beings according to what is appropriate. In short, Bodhisattvas and Tathāgatas accomplish their deeds with their divine eye and divine ear. So, what are the kinds of minds that Buddhas and Bodhisattvas know? Here, the Bodhisattva or Tathāgata knows the minds of other beings dwelling in the immeasurable and countless realms of the ten directions, whether they are completely bound by afflictions or liberated, whether they are connected with afflictions and have latent tendencies, or whether they are not connected with afflictions and have no latent tendencies. They also know minds with wrong aspirations, such as the minds of non-Buddhists, and any non-afflicted mind with defiled thoughts. Conversely, they also know minds with correct aspirations. They also know desiring minds, such as the minds of all beings born in the desire realm, even animals and birds. They also know intermediate minds, such as the minds of all beings born in the form realm. They also know exalted minds, such as the minds of all beings born in the formless realm. They also know minds that have feelings of pleasure, pain, and neither pleasure nor pain.
