Where is the place to go? These are the seven grounds of a Bodhisattva, the last of which is the guide. Among them, abiding in lineage and abiding in conduct through faith are the two grounds. Abiding in the utterly joyous is the ground of pure higher intention. Abiding in higher morality, abiding in higher mind, and abiding in higher wisdom, these three, and abiding in the signless with effort, are the ground for accomplishing conduct. Abiding in the signless, spontaneously accomplished, is the ground of certainty. On that ground, the Bodhisattva enters the third definitive entry. Abiding in individual perfect knowledge is the ground of definite conduct. The supreme abiding and the Thus-Gone One's abiding are the ground for going to the ultimate. The Thus-Gone One's abiding and the ground will be explained below in the chapter on the abiding of the Buddha's Dharma. When a Bodhisattva enters the ground of pure higher intention from the ground of conduct through faith, how does one completely transcend the bad migrations? Here, the Bodhisattva relies on the worldly, completely pure meditative stabilization, and on the ground of conduct through faith, he well cultivates the accumulations for enlightenment. In one hundred and ten ways, as previously shown, without focusing on anything else, he cultivates love for sentient beings. Through the cause of that cultivation, he will obtain such a loving thought and a compassionate thought for sentient beings. Therefore, for the sake of sentient beings, he abides in the bad migrations in the manner of a householder. If I, while abiding in these very places, could also perfectly accomplish the unexcelled, perfect, and complete enlightenment, I would also be happy to dispel the suffering of sentient beings, thinking thus. He wishes that all the negative actions of sentient beings in the bad migrations would ripen on himself through that pure intention, and he also aspires to never engage in any non-virtuous actions. Thus, by completely cultivating that worldly, completely pure meditative stabilization, he eliminates the negative states that are in harmony with the afflictive emotions of the bad migrations. Having abandoned that, since he never engages in sinful, negative actions of the bad migrations, and since he does not go to the bad migrations, he will soon
