And, by means of the objects of gathering, beings are completely matured, and the roots of virtue are also completely dedicated to Bodhi. With those three pure causes, for countless eons, hundreds of thousands of kotis, those roots of virtue will become vast and pure. For example, the nature of gold, the more a skilled goldsmith puts it into the fire, the more pure it becomes. Similarly, the Bodhisattva with pure intention, those roots of virtue also become more pure by those pure causes. One who abides in this will mostly become a Chakravartin from birth. In life after life, he will become the sovereign of Jambudvipa, free from all stains of stinginess, and become the master who dispels all stains of stinginess of beings. Whatever one does of the four objects of gathering, all of those will not be separated from remembering all the aspects of the Buddhas and the perfect accomplishment of Bodhi, thinking: Even if I become the one who shows all the supreme benefits of all beings, what is impossible? If one wishes, one can abandon home, wife, and all possessions, and go forth in the teachings of the Tathagata. In an instant, a moment, and a short time, one can enter into a hundred Samadhis of Bodhisattvas, see a hundred Tathagatas in different Buddha-fields with the divine eye, as well as their emanations, blessings, and also know the blessings of the Bodhisattvas, and also shake a hundred worlds, and similarly, one can also walk with the body, illuminate with light and show it to others, and with a hundred emanations, make a hundred beings to be tamed mature, one should initiate such diligence. If one wishes, one can bless to abide for a hundred eons. One can also enter the hundred eons of the past and future with the eye of wisdom. One can also completely distinguish a hundred Dharma doors with the Dharma doors of Skandhas, Dhatus, Ayatanas, etc. One can also emanate a hundred bodies. Each body

Moreover, the Bodhisattva's retinue numbers hundreds upon hundreds of thousands. Even more so, the transformations of the power of the aspirations of the Bodhisattvas abiding on the Joyful Ground are to be known as immeasurable. Since they possess the power of aspiration, they transform through the distinctions of aspiration. The number of those true aspirations is not easy to exhaust even through eons, hundreds of millions, trillions, and quadrillions. Thus, this abiding in joy by Bodhisattvas is the accomplishment of the four types of generation of the mind and the diligence of true aspirations, the manifest accomplishment, the complete purification of the abode, and also the purification of the non-abode, the seeing of the Buddhas, the complete purification of the roots of virtue, and the very definite determination of birth and power. This should be known as the brief teaching. The extensive teaching is as it appears in the Sutra of the Ten Grounds. Starting from abiding in the Joyful Ground, whatever the ten grounds of the Bodhisattva are in the Sutra of the Ten Grounds, these are the ten abodes of the Bodhisattva in this teaching of the mother of the Bodhisattva's collection. Starting from abiding in the Joyful Ground, up to the supreme abode, it should be known that they are arranged in order. Therein, the meaning of the complete holding by the Bodhisattvas is called ground. The meaning of the place of enjoyment is called abode. What are the aspects of the Bodhisattvas abiding in higher morality? What are the signs? What are the characteristics to be known? Here, when the Bodhisattva initially abides in the Joyful Ground, they obtain purity of mind with ten kinds of mental intentions: a higher intention of not deceiving all teachers, lamas, and objects of generosity; an intention of happiness when associating with certainty with Bodhisattvas who are in accordance with the Dharma; an intention of subduing all afflictions, near afflictions, and the works of demons, and of being able to control one's own mind; an intention of fault in all conditioned things; an intention of benefit in nirvana; and in accordance with the aspects of enlightenment

Furthermore, constantly contemplating virtuous deeds, contemplating extreme solitude in accordance with those contemplations, contemplating not looking at worldly affairs, listening, gains, and all respects, contemplating abandoning the Lesser Vehicle and realizing the Great Vehicle, and contemplating accomplishing all the benefits of all sentient beings. These ten correct contemplations enter the mind, and are called their superior pure contemplations. Because these contemplations are vast and complete, one abides in the superior morality of the Bodhisattva, enters and abides in the second ground. He abides in the superior morality and is naturally virtuous. Even the smallest immoral conduct belonging to the path of evil deeds is not practiced, let alone medium or large immoral conduct. For the complete ten paths of virtuous deeds, they also naturally appear as correct. Therefore, with the wisdom of naturally keeping precepts, he knows as it is the establishment of the true accomplishment of the result from the cause of universally practicing the deeds of the paths of karma, both afflicted and unafflicted, for the evil destinies, the good destinies, and the three vehicles. He also truly knows those deeds from the maturation result and the result similar to the cause. He himself also correctly appears to abandon non-virtuous deeds and correctly take up virtuous deeds, and he also wishes others to enter into them and causes them to enter. He has compassion for beings who are in various kinds of poverty, and after gaining great compassion, he individually realizes that all sentient beings who are flourishing or declining in the realms of sentient beings due to the faults of practicing discordant actions are truly suffering without any distinction. Seeing the Buddhas abiding in the one who abides in the superior morality, and the roots of virtue becoming purified, should be understood as before. There is a difference in this: for example, if gold is smeared with black ash by a skilled goldsmith and put into the fire, it will appear even more
