There is nothing above that. There is nothing more excellent than that. Above those Bodhisattvas as taught, there are no Bodhisattvas who are learning in the trainings of Bodhisattvas. Moreover, all those Bodhisattvas' names are without distinction, like these, it should be known that they are designated from qualities. For example: Bodhisattva, Great Bodhisattva. Possessing wisdom, the best of clarity. Son of the Victorious One and the basis of the Victorious One. Sprout of the Victorious One, completely victorious. Possessing diligence, the best of the noble ones. Leader, great fame. Possessing compassion and great merit. Powerful one, likewise possessing Dharma. Moreover, in the ten directions, in limitless and boundless world realms, the designation of the individual names of those limitless Bodhisattvas who abide, should be known as immeasurable. Among them, those Bodhisattvas who abide claiming "I am a Bodhisattva," but do not properly practice the trainings of Bodhisattvas, those should be known as pretending to be Bodhisattvas, they are not true Bodhisattvas. Those Bodhisattvas who abide claiming "I am a Bodhisattva," and also properly learn the trainings of Bodhisattvas, those should be known as true Bodhisattvas. From the place of yoga of the Bodhisattva Ground, the eighteenth chapter, the qualities of the Bodhisattva. May the place of yoga of the Ground be complete! Summary: Essence and place, fruit, order, are the summary. These five are the signs of the Bodhisattvas of the true Bodhisattvas, possessing these one enters into the count of Bodhisattva Bodhisattva. What are the five? Namely, loving-kindness, pleasant speech, steadfastness, generosity, and the definitive explanation of profound meaning and intention. These five dharmas should be known to be divided into five: essence, place, benefit of the fruit, order, and summary. Among them, the essence of loving-kindness is of two types: belonging to thought and belonging to practice. Among them, that which belongs to thought is: the Bodhisattva's

The thought of benefit and the thought of happiness, which is love for sentient beings. The nature of belonging to the practice of love is that the Bodhicitta for sentient beings is diligently practiced by body and speech as much as possible. Among them, the nature of kind speech is, as before, truly rejoicing, universally rejoicing, and beneficial words. For example, it should be understood from the chapter on the objects of collection. Among them, the courage, endurance, and fearless strength of the Bodhisattva is called the nature of steadfastness. Among them, the Bodhisattva's vast generosity and non-afflictive generosity should be understood as the nature of giving by extending the hand. In order to correctly recognize the four kinds separately, and in order to manifest them, the wisdom arising from correct practice, it should be understood as the nature of Bodhisattvas deeply explaining the meaning and intention. There are five places of love. What are the five? They are suffering sentient beings, those who commit evil deeds, the negligent, those who have gone astray, and those who possess the tendencies of afflictions. Among them, any sentient being from hell beings onwards who continuously experiences the feeling of suffering and clings to the continuum is called a suffering being. Although they are not necessarily suffering beings, they mostly engage in bodily misconduct, and increasingly engage in verbal misconduct and mental misconduct. Those sentient beings who abide in the nature of manifest joy are called those who commit evil deeds. For example, butchers, pig slayers, bird slayers, and so on. Although they are not necessarily suffering beings or those who commit evil deeds, they are particularly attached to and indulge in desires, as well as performers, dancers, comedians, coquettish people, those who are absorbed in watching performances, and sentient beings who are absorbed in their own grooming.

Those beings are called the negligent. For example, some enjoy desires. Some do not have suffering, do not engage in wrong conduct, and do not engage in negligence, but those beings who have entered in order to be completely liberated from suffering due to the degeneration of views are called those who have entered wrongly. For example, those who have renounced desires and have gone forth in the Vinaya of wrongly proclaimed Dharma. There is no certainty for some beings from suffering to extensively entering wrongly, but those beings who are bound by all afflictions and not bound by all afflictions are called those who possess latent afflictions. For example, the virtue of ordinary beings who have entered correctly and those who are learners. These are the places of compassion for Bodhisattvas, and through these places and objects, compassion will arise, and there is nothing higher than this, and there is nothing more excellent than this. These five are the places of pleasant speech for Bodhisattvas, what are the five? Speaking well, pleasing well, comforting well, exhorting well, and teaching with reason. Their detailed distinctions are like this: they should be understood from the chapter on the objects of collection. Through these five places and these objects, the pleasant speech of Bodhisattvas will arise, and there is nothing higher than this, and there is nothing more excellent than this. These five should be understood as the steadfast places of Bodhisattvas, what are the five? It should be understood from the chapter on the aspects of enlightenment, which five ways show that Bodhisattvas generate steadfast strength, those five are the steadfast places of Bodhisattvas. These five are the places of extending the hand of Bodhisattvas, what are the five? Giving without interruption, giving with joy, giving with respect, completely afflicted
