What are the four kinds of individual perfect knowledge? That is, regarding all the names of all dharmas, how many there are and how they exist, the unobstructed and irreversible knowledge arising from meditation is the individual perfect knowledge of their respective dharmas. Regarding all the characteristics of all dharmas, how many there are and how they exist, the unobstructed and irreversible knowledge arising from meditation is the individual perfect knowledge of their respective meanings. Regarding all the definitive statements of all dharmas, how many there are and how they exist, the unobstructed and irreversible knowledge arising from meditation is the individual perfect knowledge of their respective definitive words. Regarding all the various distinctions of all dharmas themselves, how many there are and how they exist, the unobstructed and irreversible knowledge arising from meditation is the individual perfect knowledge of their respective eloquence. Relying on these four kinds of individual perfect knowledge of Bodhisattvas, it should be understood that Bodhisattvas will become immeasurably proficient in the five places, namely, proficient in the aggregates, the elements and sources, dependent origination, and what is and is not the place. Bodhisattvas, with these four kinds of dharmas, will themselves perfectly realize all dharmas and become Buddhas, and will also skillfully teach others. Since there is nothing higher than one's own perfect realization of Bodhi, how can one skillfully teach others? So, what are the Bodhisattva's accumulations for Bodhi? They should be viewed as two kinds, namely, the accumulation of merit and the accumulation of wisdom. The detailed distinctions of these two accumulations are as follows: They should be understood as explained in the chapter on benefiting oneself and others. The Bodhisattva's accumulations of merit and wisdom are understood to be small in the first countless eons, medium in the second, and large in the third. How does a Bodhisattva engage with the thirty-seven dharmas of the wings of Bodhi? Here, the Bodhisattva relies on the four kinds of individual perfect knowledge of the Bodhisattva.

Relying on. With the wisdom that completely grasps the means, one thoroughly understands the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment as they truly are, but does not make them manifest. He also thoroughly understands them as they truly are through the two types of vehicles, namely the Hearer Vehicle and the Great Vehicle. Among them, thoroughly understanding as it truly is through the Hearer Vehicle is as follows: everything should be understood as explained in the Hearer Ground. How does a Bodhisattva thoroughly understand the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment as they truly are through the Great Vehicle? Here, the Bodhisattva abides contemplating the body in the body, but does not conceptually grasp the body as a real object of the body, and also does not exist in all of everything, that is, the body is the inexpressible nature of reality, and that is also thoroughly understood as it truly is, that is his genuine mindfulness of contemplating the body in the body. In the conventional sense, it should be understood that the Bodhisattva's mode of establishment is the mindfulness of contemplating the body in the body, which possesses immeasurable knowledge. Just as the mindfulness of contemplating the body in the body, the remaining mindfulnesses and the remaining factors of enlightenment should also be understood in the same way. He does not conceptually grasp the body and other phenomena as suffering or arising, nor does he conceptually grasp the determined abandonment as cessation. He also does not conceptually grasp the cause of obtaining it as the path, and he also thoroughly understands as they truly are the inexpressible nature of suffering, the nature of arising, the nature of cessation, and the nature of the path, that is his practice of the truth based on the genuine cultivation of the factors of enlightenment. In the conventional sense, the Bodhisattva's contemplation with truth as its object should be regarded as possessing the immeasurable wisdom of the mode of establishment. Among them, whatever non-conceptualization the Bodhisattva has towards those phenomena is

That should be regarded as its Śamatha and Vipaśyanā. The thorough understanding of the reality of all dharmas as they are is Vipaśyanā; the knowledge of the immeasurable ways of establishing is to be regarded as its Vipaśyanā. Thus, the Śamatha of a Bodhisattva, in brief, should be known as fourfold. Namely, preceded by the knowledge of reality and convention; the result of the knowledge of reality and convention; spontaneously entering into all conceptual elaborations; and even in the mere inexpressible object, due to the absence of characteristics, with a non-conceptual peaceful mind, all dharmas enter into the oneness of equality. With these four, the path of Śamatha of Bodhisattvas leads to the complete accomplishment of the wisdom vision of unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, and even to its actual accomplishment. Furthermore, the Vipaśyanā of Bodhisattvas, in brief, should also be known as only fourfold. Namely, the same four that are preceded by Śamatha; the complete abandonment of the extreme of bad views that cling to imputation on all dharmas; the complete abandonment of the extreme of bad views that cling to denigration; and the Vipaśyanā that possesses the immeasurable ways of skillfully distinguishing and establishing dharmas. With these four, the path of Vipaśyanā of Bodhisattvas leads to the complete accomplishment of the wisdom vision of unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, and even to its actual attainment. This is a brief explanation of the Śamatha and Vipaśyanā of Bodhisattvas. What is the skillful means of a Bodhisattva? In brief, there are twelve types. Namely, six that arise from the actual accomplishment of the inner Buddha-dharma, and six that arise from the maturation of outer sentient beings. What are the six skillful means that arise from the actual accomplishment of the inner Buddha-dharma? Namely, the Bodhisattva's view of all sentient beings with compassion, and the thorough understanding of all phenomena as they are, and the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment.
