It is the nature of the all-pervading Dharma, which is inconceivable and indistinguishable, and should be believed and understood, thus contemplating. Thus, with the reasoning of the Dharma nature, one should thoroughly seek the nature of the unlovely. This is the temporary practice of Shamatha-Vipassana, diligently focusing on the unlovely, possessing three entrances, and relying on six kinds of distinctions. The Fourteenth Volume of the Śrāvakapiṭaka: How does one diligently practice Shamatha-Vipassana with loving-kindness as the object, thoroughly seeking the six kinds of supports? It means hearing the Dharma through the door of loving-kindness, and through the door of contemplation, believing and understanding that the nature of benefiting sentient beings with happiness is loving-kindness, which possesses the intention of increasing benefit and happiness. Thus, knowing each separate meaning is thoroughly seeking its meaning. Thus, knowing each separate meaning, this is the side of friends, this is the side of enemies, this is the side of neutrals, thus distinguishing. However, since all those sides belong to the continuum of others, they are external objects. Therefore, one believes in external objects. Also, the side of friends is internal, while the side of enemies and the side of neutrals are external. Thus, one thoroughly seeks loving-kindness in things. Furthermore, those three sides are neither suffering nor happiness. Whoever desires happiness, may they attain happiness, thus distinguishing. Among them, the nature of benefiting is friends, the nature of harming is enemies, and the nature contrary to those two is the side of neutrals. For those who are neither suffering nor happy, and who desire happiness, their happiness also has three distinctions: some desire the happiness of sensual pleasures, some desire the joy of experiencing forms, and some desire happiness without joy. Among them, for those who lack the happiness of sensual pleasures, may they be happy with flawless happiness. The happiness with joy and the happiness without joy should also be understood in the same way. Thus, through the door of the nature of pus, one thoroughly seeks loving-kindness.

also makes it indiscriminate. Furthermore, regarding which is the side of friends, which is the side of enemies, and which is the side of neutrals, I shall treat them equally, I shall treat them equanimously, thus making a thorough distinction. Why is that? Because for what is the side of my friends, it is not difficult to accomplish happiness, and for what is the side of my neutrals, it is also not difficult, but for what is the side of enemies, it is very difficult, but if I must accomplish happiness for them, then what need is there to mention the side of friends and the side of neutrals? That is why I think so. Why is that? Because here, there is no one who scolds, no one who is scolded, no one who is angry, no one who is angered, no one who exposes shortcomings, no one whose shortcomings are exposed, no one who strikes, no one who is struck, because those are only expressed by those letters, those are only sound and language. Furthermore, regarding this body in which I dwell, for example, the touch of sound, hands, sticks, knives, the touch of weapons, such touches will come to this body, which is made of the four great elements, such as coarse matter. My body is also impermanent, and those that bring happiness and harm are also impermanent. Furthermore, all sentient beings are subject to birth, aging, sickness, and death, and they are naturally suffering. Just as sentient beings do to themselves, enemies also do to enemies. Therefore, if I also inflict suffering on sentient beings who are naturally suffering, and do not accomplish happiness, that is not in accordance with my conduct. The Blessed One also said: From a long time ago, there has never been anyone who has not been your parents, siblings, children, Khenpo, Acharya, Lama, or sentient beings who are like Lamas. Therefore, for that reason, one should also be

Moreover, the enemy's side is also the enemy's side, and the enemy's side is also the friend's side. Therefore, there is no entity of friend and enemy that is completely established here. Because friends sometimes become enemies, and enemies also become friends. Therefore, I should have equanimity towards all sentient beings, equality of views, a mind of benefit, a mind of happiness, approaching happiness, and a willingness to approach happiness equally. Thinking in this way, one seeks loving-kindness with universal characteristics. Similarly, as before, for those sentient beings who harm, the dharma that is my harmful mind is associated with afflictions. As before, for them, the dharma that is now my harmless mind is peaceful and not associated with afflictions. Thus, one thoroughly distinguishes, thereby seeking the dark side and the bright side of loving-kindness. Furthermore, those sentient beings who rely on the past and desire happiness, since they are already in the past, cannot be approached with happiness. But those who are now sentient beings, from now until the future, may they always be happy. Thus, one thoroughly distinguishes. In this way, one seeks time with loving-kindness. Furthermore, whether it is desiring happiness or approaching happiness, there is neither self nor sentient being. Whatever is spoken of by name, symbol, designation, or term is merely aggregates, merely formations. And these formations arise from the causes of karma and afflictions. Thus, one thoroughly distinguishes, thereby seeking loving-kindness through the reasoning of dependence. If one universally relies on and habituates loving-kindness, and practices it many times, one will abandon harmful thoughts, and harmful thoughts are precisely what should be abandoned. Thus, one seeks loving-kindness through the reasoning of action. The reliable scriptures are also like this, and I also have my own wisdom and insight arising, and there are also such things that can be inferred.
