And the one who follows the marks of names, and the painful touch of the body, and being touched by the obstacles that take life, clinging to life and hoping for life. For that, sorrow with hope, and slowness, and lamentation. These ten and the dharmas that are not in accordance with the precepts. What are the ten antidotes to those that are not in accordance with the precepts, which are in accordance with the precepts? They are: the perception of ugliness, the perception of suffering in impermanence, the perception of selflessness in suffering, the perception of aversion to food, the perception of displeasure with all the world, the perception of light, the perception of detachment from desire, the perception of cessation, the perception of death. These ten perceptions should be constantly cultivated and familiarized. By practicing them many times, the ten kinds of obstacles to the precepts, the ten kinds of dharmas that are not in accordance with the precepts, will be abandoned. In this context, the perception of light is to abandon the obstacles between dharma-mind and yoga-attention, that is, the light of dharma, the light of meaning, the light of tranquility, and the light of insight. It should be understood that these are the categories of light. Furthermore, it should be known that there are ten dharmas that are in accordance with the precepts. What are the ten? They are: the previous cause, the teachings that are in accordance with the lineage, proper application, constant reverence, strong desire, generating the power of yoga, thoroughly taming the inner absorption of body and mind, accurately and properly distinguishing, complete freedom from affliction, and absence of manifest pride. What is the previous cause? It is the previous effort to fully mature the senses, and the accomplishment of the senses. What is the teaching that is in accordance with the lineage?

Then, in what way does the practice of the virtuous aspect make the time ripe and produce results, and only quickly accomplish the virtuous aspect correctly? Then, what is the strong desire? It is like this: When will I be able to accomplish the state of the noble ones, accomplish that state of abiding and abide? Thinking like this, one generates joy in higher liberation. Then, what is it that increases the power of yoga? The power of yoga can be obtained through two causes. What are the two? Natural faculties are sharp, and long-term habituation and complete purification. Then, what is the way to thoroughly purify the coarse afflictions of body and mind? It is like this: the body is exhausted and the body is tired, from which the coarse afflictions of the body and the coarse afflictions of the mind arise, and they are thoroughly purified by examining other behaviors; and excessive conceptualization and excessive observation, from which the coarse afflictions of the body and mind arise, and they are thoroughly purified by the method of calming the mind inwardly, or naturally thoroughly purified; and the complete entanglement of dullness and sleep, from which the mind is obviously contracted and the mind is depressed, from which the coarse afflictions of the body and mind arise, and they are thoroughly practiced by discriminating the Dharma with superior wisdom, and by extremely joyful attention, or naturally thoroughly purified; and without abandoning afflictions, from which the afflictions of the body and mind are not separated and are constantly followed, and they are thoroughly purified by practicing the correct path. Then, what is repeated individual observation? Starting from pure discipline, repeatedly observing individually the wrong actions and the correct actions, and observing individually the actions that have not been done and the actions that have been done, and returning from the wrong actions and the actions that have not been done, and not returning from the correct actions and the actions that have been done, but returning from the actions that have not been done and not returning from the actions that have been done, for such attention that is practiced without abandoning afflictions, under its control, repeated individual observation is made, and if it is known that it has been abandoned
