Furthermore, whoever does not let pass day, night, instant, moment, and a short while, that is called a person liberated by time. What is a person with the nature of immovability? It is said: The opposite of that should be known as a person with the nature of immovability. What is a person liberated by wisdom? It is said: A person who has attained the exhaustion of all defilements in all respects, and who does not abide having realized the eight liberations with his body, is called a person liberated by wisdom. What is a person liberated from both parts? It is said: A person who has attained the exhaustion of all defilements in all respects, and who abides having realized the eight liberations with his body, and whose mind is liberated from the obscuration of afflictions and the obscuration of liberation, is called a person liberated from both parts. If asked, what is the establishment of beings like? It should be known that there are eleven distinctions by which beings can be established. What are the eleven? They are: the distinction of faculties, the distinction of groups, the distinction of conduct, the distinction of aspirations, the distinction of paths, the distinction of paths and fruits, the distinction of application, the distinction of meditative absorptions, the distinction of births, the distinction of complete degeneration, and the distinction of obscurations. Among these, firstly, by the distinction of faculties, dull-witted and sharp-witted persons are established. Secondly, by the distinction of groups, seven types of persons are established: monks, nuns, probationary nuns, male novices, female novices, laymen, and laywomen. Thirdly, by the distinction of conduct, seven types of persons are established: whoever has a greater inclination towards desire is one who practices desire; whoever has a greater inclination towards hatred is one who practices hatred; whoever has a greater inclination towards delusion is one who practices delusion; whoever has a greater inclination towards pride is one who practices pride.

Whatever is predominantly conceptual is the practice of conceptualization. Whatever becomes equal is the practice of equality. Whatever has the nature of few afflictions should be known as the practice of reducing afflictions. Among these, what are the signs of an individual practicing attachment? Here, an individual practicing attachment, even for a small object that causes attachment, generates strong and great entanglements of attachment. What need is there to mention those that are moderate and good? The entanglements of attachment also remain in the mindstream for a long time, and one becomes connected with the entanglements of attachment for a long time. One is overwhelmed by the dharmas that cause attachment, and should not be overwhelmed by the dharmas of attachment. The senses are gentle, the senses are mild, the senses are not rough, the senses are not rude. For others, it is like this: body and speech are not of a very discordant nature, difficult to separate, difficult to become disgusted with, fond of the inferior, the limits of action are strict, the limits of action are firm, conduct is strict, conduct is firm, fond of prolonged amusement, and of a nature that craves clothing and utensils. For him, there is much pleasure and comfort, much joy, no frown, a bright complexion, and always the first to smile. It should be known that those who are similar to this are the signs of an individual practicing attachment. Among these, what are the signs of an individual practicing hatred? Here, an individual practicing hatred, even for a small reason for anger in an object that causes hatred, generates ugly and numerous entanglements of anger. What need is there to mention those that are moderate and great? The entanglements of anger also remain in the mindstream for a long time, and one becomes connected with the entanglements of anger for a long time.
