It is encouragement, it is admonishment, it is subsequent instruction, it is teaching the Dharma. So, how is it encouragement? For example, regarding the higher discipline, due to the loss of discipline, and the loss of higher excellent conduct, through the means of seeing, hearing, and doubt, based on truth, not based on untruth; based on timeliness, not based on untimeliness; based on meaningfulness, not based on meaninglessness; based on gentle words, not based on harsh words; based on a friendly attitude, not based on anger, encouragement is given. This is how it is encouragement. How is it remembrance? One should remember transgressions, the Dharma, and the meaning. How is it remembering transgressions? For example, if one does not remember having committed a transgression, one says to that venerable one, in such and such a place, at such and such a time, such and such a transgression occurred, thus causing him to remember. This is how it is remembering transgressions. How is it remembering the Dharma? Just as described in detail before, for example, regarding the Dharma of the Sutra Pitaka, the Geya Pitaka, and the Vyakarana Pitaka, which have been heard and upheld, if one cannot remember it alone, or if one wants to remember it but cannot, one causes him to remember, or to recall what has been forgotten, one asks questions thoroughly, recites completely, and bestows accordingly. This is how it is remembering the Dharma. How is it remembering the meaning? For example, if one forgets the meaning that has been heard, one causes him to remember, and repeatedly awakens, clarifies, instructs, and correctly instructs. Those things that have been done for a long time, spoken for a long time, that are in accordance with virtue, in accordance with meaning, and in accordance with pure conduct, one also causes him to remember. This is how it is remembering. How is it admonishment? Regarding extreme solitude, truly abiding within, yoga, attention, tranquility, and insight, giving instructions that are in accordance with them from time to time, and from time to time with this

It is called meaningful speech, that is to say, speech that is in accordance with abandoning the obscurations of the mind, or speech of discipline, or speech of samadhi, or speech of wisdom, or speech of liberation, or speech of seeing wisdom, or speech of few desires, or speech of contentment, or speech of renunciation, or speech of detachment, or speech of cessation, or speech of non-contamination, or speech of non-disturbance, which refers to the speech that is in accordance with the dependent arising and conformity of these conditions. Thus, it is admonishment. How is it to teach accordingly? It is said that the teacher's teachings and Vinaya truly teach accordingly, and that the Khenpo or Acharya or the Dharma-conforming Lama, or someone like a Lama, knows that any dispute has arisen and passed, then at that time, he rebukes him from time to time, punishes him with penalties, and abandons him. Also, because it is in accordance with the Dharma, they enjoy it together, exhort them to hold and gather, and for what should and should not be done, they should practice especially, and in order not to practice especially, they should explain especially practicing and especially not practicing, which is teaching accordingly, thus it is teaching accordingly. How is it to teach the Dharma? In order to ripen sentient beings, in order to purify sentient beings, and in order for the holy Dharma to abide for a long time, one should always speak the words spoken in the past, that is to say, the words of generosity, or the words of discipline, and the words of rebirth in higher realms, and from the faults of enjoying the taste of desires, one should extensively and truly explain the Dharma of purification and liberation that will definitely arise. Also, one should always start from suffering or origin or cessation or path, and speak of the four noble truths with complete words and sentences, connection, conformity, following, skillful means, appropriateness, harmony, and the assembly of diligent practice, and that speech should also be timely, respectful, and consistent from beginning to end.
