They will grieve, they will suffer, they will wail, they will beat their chests, they will weep loudly, and they will become completely ignorant. This is like the faults arising from the sutra of accumulating food. Even if they are wealthy, they will think, 'Will my possessions be plundered by the king or thieves, or burned by fire, or carried away by water, or wasted by being buried in bad treasures, or ruined by not completing the work well, or controlled by hateful relatives, or destroyed unreasonably by those in the family who do not create strife, or will they not become a single number?' To protect all of this, intense effort will arise. This is like the faults arising from the sutra of protecting food everywhere. What are the faults arising from the complete decay of friendship? It is like this, because of food and the basis of food, a mother speaks unpleasant words to her son, and a son to his mother, a father to his son, and a son to his father, a brother to his sister, and a sister to her brother, and a friend to his friend. What need is there to mention people to people? They fight and quarrel with each other. Similarly, Brahmins and royalty and great householders, like great sala trees, also fight and quarrel with each other solely for the sake of food. They also strike with their hands, and strike with clubs and weapons. This is like knowing that this is the fault arising from the complete decay of friendship due to food. So, what are the faults arising from not knowing satisfaction? It is like this, kings and royalty who have been crowned from the top of their heads, dwelling in their respective villages, cities, towns, regions, and around the king's palace, being dissatisfied, they arrange battle formations with each other, blow conches, beat drums, shoot various arrows, equip themselves fully, and gather together with fat horses. When they gather together with elephants, chariots, and fat armies, they pierce bodies with arrows and short spears and die.

English
Ma. Just like obtaining the suffering of approaching death, and furthermore, whatever is similar to that is called the fault of insatiability. So, what is the fault that arises from not having autonomy? For example, when people who serve the king and live on leftovers enter the guarded cities, they are pelted with boiling oil, boiling fat, boiling cow dung soup, boiling copper juice, boiling alkaline water, or their bodies are pierced by arrows and short spears and they die, or like obtaining the suffering of approaching death, and furthermore, whatever is similar to that is called the fault that arises from not having autonomy. So, what is the fault that arises from wrong conduct? For example, some people, for the sake of food, do many wrong deeds with their bodies and accumulate them, and just like the body, so are speech and mind. When he is afflicted by illness, becomes miserable, and the illness is severe, then the previous wrong deeds of the body, speech, and mind incline towards him like the shadow of the summit of Phye-ma-red Mountain (ཕྱེ་མ་རེད་ཀྱི་རིའི་རྩེ་མོའི་གྲིབ་མ་,,,shadow of the summit of Phye-ma-red Mountain), completely incline, and manifestly completely incline. Then he thinks like this: Alas, I have committed sins with body, speech, and mind, alas, I have not done merit, and after I die, I will go to the place of those who have committed sins. Thinking like this, he dies in regret, and after dying, he will be born in the lower realms, such as hell beings, animals, and hungry ghosts. This is called the fault that arises from wrong conduct. He thinks like this: Thus, this food, even when sought everywhere, is accompanied by faults, even when used, it is accompanied by faults, even when enjoyed and digested, it is completely accompanied by faults. However, this food also has some benefits, and what are they? This body exists by means of food, it exists by relying on food, and without food, it cannot exist.
English
E is the benefit. Likewise, this body that subsists on food, even if it exists for a very long time, be it a hundred years, if well protected, will only exist a little longer than that, for death is inherent in it. Therefore, those who merely engage in maintaining the body are not engaging well, and those who are content with merely maintaining the body are not truly content, for they will not fully experience the faultless benefits that arise from food. Those who are not content with merely maintaining the body, nor merely engage in maintaining the body, but especially rely on the very existence of the body to engage in the perfect accomplishment of pure conduct, those are the ones who engage well. It is precisely they who will fully experience the faultless benefits that arise from food. Therefore, I think that being content and dwelling with only meager benefits from food is not in accordance with my conduct, and that doing what children do, like those who share the same fate as children, is also not in accordance with my conduct. Thus, having fully understood all the faults of food in every way, having individually examined them, seeing the faults, completely seeking liberation, and solely for the purpose of liberation from food, one eats food like the flesh of a child. He also thinks this: those donors and patrons, having undergone difficult efforts and searches to obtain enjoyments, will experience many faults arising from that, squeezing skin, flesh, and blood. Just as one gives out of compassion in order to obtain a special fruit, so too, I must strive to make the actions of those people become extremely fruitful, extremely beneficial, extremely luminous, extremely vast, wandering like the moon in various households, with a secluded body, a secluded mind, possessing shame, without arrogance, not praising oneself, not slandering others, and how wonderful it would be if one could attain one's own place!
