If one meditates on the attainment of non-perception, one will be born with the same karmic result as the gods of the realm of non-perception. If someone asks, what are the signs of being free from desire? The answer is: the actions of the body are stable, the sense faculties do not waver, his behavior does not decline rapidly, he is not completely weary of one kind of behavior, he can continue for a long time, he does not easily like other behaviors, he speaks little, speaks very quietly, does not like idle chatter, does not like noise, his words are firm, after the eyes see various objects, he can correctly recognize the various objects, and he does not generate greed for objects, similarly, for sounds, smells, tastes, and tactile sensations, he can also correctly recognize them, and he does not generate greed for tactile sensations, he has no fear, his wisdom is profound, he brings body and mind close with great diligence, he has no greed, he has no afflictions, he has patience, and his mind has no afflictions such as the conceptual thoughts of desire. Those who are similar to this should be recognized as the signs of being free from desire. This is temporarily the distinction of the form of walking the worldly path. If one wants to walk the path beyond the world, then beginning with the Four Noble Truths, up to the attainment of the Arhat state, for each characteristic of the Four Noble Truths, from the mental engagement of recognition, etc., up to the mental engagement of the fruit of ultimate practice, the seven mental engagements will arise in sequence. Therefore, for a yogi who hears, upholds, practices well, and engages the mind with the brief and detailed explanations of the Four Noble Truths, or for a yogi who has attained the substance of meditative concentration and the formless attainments, there are four aspects: that is, recognizing the individual characteristics of the Truth of Suffering through the aspects of impermanence, the aspect of suffering, the aspect of emptiness, and the aspect of selflessness. There are four aspects: the aspect of cause, the aspect of arising, the aspect of production, and the

Through the aspect of conditions, one can separately recognize the characteristics of the truth of the origin. The four aspects are: the aspect of cessation, the aspect of peace, the aspect of excellence, and the aspect of definite departure, which enable one to separately recognize the characteristics of the truth of cessation. The four aspects are: the aspect of the path, the aspect of reason, the aspect of cultivation, and the aspect of definite departure, which enable one to separately recognize the characteristics of the truth of the path. That is the attention that separately recognizes its characteristics. When the truth of suffering is completely understood through ten aspects, the four aspects will also follow. What are the ten aspects? They are: the aspect of change, the aspect of destruction, the aspect of separation, the aspect of dharma nature, the aspect of proximity, the aspect of universal combination and bondage, the aspect of unpleasantness, the aspect of non-establishment and lack of pleasure, the aspect of no object, and the aspect of no freedom. These ten aspects should also be carefully examined with the reasoning that establishes validity. For this, the scripture of temporary belief is: The Blessed One said, "All conditioned phenomena are impermanent." These conditioned phenomena are briefly divided into two types: the sentient world and the container world. Among them, the Blessed One, with regard to the sentient world, said: Monks, with my pure divine eye, far surpassing the human eye, I see beings dying and being born, from the destruction of the body after death, to being born in the happy realm of the heavenly gods. The Blessed One, possessing the eye of wisdom, directly saw and temporarily showed the impermanence of the sentient world. The Blessed One, with regard to the container world, said in the Sutra called "Like Seven Suns": Monks, after a long time has passed, seven suns gradually appear in the world, even the great earth and Mount Meru, the king of mountains, and all the container world between the Brahma world.

After everything is burned and reduced to ashes, there is no smoke, and there are no remaining ashes. There is also a time when this happens, and there is also an opportunity. As stated in this category, the Bhagavan, possessing the eye of wisdom, directly sees, therefore, he shows the impermanence of the outer world. Therefore, the yogi, relying on the credible teachings for a while, takes faith as power, and thereby obtains a definite understanding of the impermanence of all conditioned phenomena. After he obtains such a definite understanding, taking faith as power, he repeatedly and completely seeks the directness, non-obscurity, and independence from others of impermanence itself. How does he completely seek it? Answer: It is said that he establishes two kinds of things, what are the two? Namely, internal things and external things. Among them, internal things are the six sense sources. External things are sixteen kinds of things, what are the sixteen? For example, the element of earth, such as towns, villages, houses, shops, and so on; the element of gardens, such as trees, grass, medicine, forests, and so on; the element of mountains, such as mountains existing in various forms; the element of water, such as springs, lakes, ponds, rivers, and so on; the element of the edge of work, such as fields and so on; the element of storage, such as warehouses and so on; the element of food; the element of drink; the element of riding; the element of clothing; the element of ornaments; laughter; song and dance; the element of the sound of musical instruments; incense; flower garlands; the element of wealth; the element of utensils; light; the element of darkness; the element of enjoyment of love between men and women. These are the sixteen external things. After he establishes internal and external things in this way, he completely seeks the changeability of internal things, temporarily focusing on the mind with direct perception as the main thing. Among them, the changes of internal things are fifteen kinds, and the causes of change are eight kinds.
