For a beginner who is diligently engaged in yoga, first, from the appearance of the doors on the left and right sides of the house, or from the bellows of a blacksmith, or from the wooden bellows of a goldsmith, or from the aggregates of external winds, grasp the signs of breath exhaling, entering, coming, and going, and by remembering the object of the inner breath and exhalation, have faith in breathing and exhaling. Initially, only in the direction of the mouth and nose, starting from the coarse tube, have faith that the wind going back and forth becomes very subtle and small. Then gradually, little by little, have faith that the wind becomes large and very numerous, and have faith that it enters between all the pores. Like this, have faith that the entire body is connected with the aggregate of wind, completely surrounded by the aggregate of wind, closely wrapped by the aggregate of wind, and dwells within the immeasurable aggregate of wind. Just like, for example, like the fiber of a silk-cotton tree or the fiber of cotton, also have faith in becoming light. When the continuity of breathing in and breathing out is uninterrupted, and it is kept in mind, then it is abiding by observing the body in the inner body. When the dead bodies of others are abandoned and are in a certain state, and the continuity of breathing in and breathing out is uninterrupted, and it is kept in mind, then it is abiding by observing the body in the external body. When one believes in one's own death or believes that one is dead, and believes that one is separated from the continuity of breathing in and breathing out, then it is abiding by observing the body in the inner and outer body. For all practices, one should also have faith in having the aspect of calm abiding and being completely seized by the aspect of calm abiding. All the remaining should be understood as before. In this way, when the beginner is properly instructed, in order to truly accomplish it, one should possess diligence, mindfulness, and awareness, and abide by eliminating attachment and displeasure towards the world. Therefore, for the time being, that practice should be carried out continuously, and carried out well and kept in mind.

That which, having obtained the right conduct, does not cultivate with joking and other things, is its diligence. That which, in the practice of meditating on tranquility and insight, fixes the mind on knowing distraction and non-distraction, is that which possesses mindfulness and awareness. That which well grasps the signs that cause aversion and the signs that cause joy, is that which eliminates attachment to the world and distress. Thus, abiding between diligence and eliminating attachment to the world and distress, even in its very beginning, through the correct practice, the great mind of diligence is extremely tamed, the body is extremely tamed, and the arising of the fitness of mind and body is subtle and difficult to perceive. When meditating on tranquility and insight, that which is the extreme taming of the mind, the extreme taming of the body, and the fitness of mind and body, is the extreme taming of body and mind. When that one-pointedness of mind and the extreme taming of body and mind increase, in this way, from one cause, taking one cause in succession, it brings about the coarse and easily perceptible one-pointedness of mind and the extreme taming of body and mind. Thus, when that coarse and easily perceptible one-pointedness of mind and the extreme taming of body and mind will soon arise, the appearance of solidity and heaviness will arise, but that is not a sign of harm. As soon as it arises, it abandons the bad dwelling of the mind, which is the obstacle to the pleasure of cultivation and belongs to the category of afflictions, and its antidote, the fitness of mind and the extreme taming of mind, will also arise. When that arises, in accordance with the arising of the extreme taming of the body, the winds of the great elements flow through the body, and through the cause of their flowing, they separate from the bad dwelling of the body, which is the obstacle to the pleasure of cultivation and belongs to the category of afflictions, and its antidote, through the extreme taming of the body, causes the entire body to be filled.

will also appear. Initially, when it arises, it will be based on joy in the heart, extreme deterioration in the heart, dwelling with supreme joy in the heart, and accompanied by manifest joy. After that, the power of extreme familiarity, whatever arises initially, will gradually become extremely subtle, and the body will become endowed with extreme familiarity like a shadow. The joy that arises in the heart will also be abandoned, and the mind will approach stability through calm abiding, entering the object of focus in a state of extreme tranquility. After that, the initial yogi is with intention, and is classified as with intention. Why is that? Because, initially, when he practices on the form body, he obtains a reduction in the intention of equipoise, therefore he is called with intention. The signs of the initial practitioner with intention are these: he obtains the mind of practicing on the form body, extreme familiarity of the body, extreme familiarity of the mind, a reduction in one-pointedness of mind, having the ability and opportunity to combine the object of focus that completely purifies afflictions, his mind stream becomes gentle, entangled near calm abiding, and the aspects he has practiced are also completed. If he practices on an object that would generate attachment, strong entanglement of attachment will not arise, and he will be able to eliminate it by relying on a small amount of antidote and slight effort. It should be understood similarly for objects that would generate hatred, delusion, arrogance, harmony, discrimination, and harmony. When he dwells in the true abiding within, and settles his mind there, the mind and body will quickly become extremely familiar, bad postures of the body will not cause great harm, obstacles will not spread extensively, and intentions of desire, joy, and complete suffering will not arise extensively. When he stands up and walks, the body and
